To be frank, it wasn’t difficult to see his ability before his loan. All that did was validate it. Lookman needs to be playing a lot next year. I trust Brands will agree.

..I suppose much depends on who comes in. Currently most would expect Lookman to be ahead of Bolasie in getting game time but there are links with Hirving Lozano at PSV and young Kluivert at Ajax. Be interesting what the summer brings.

I want to see Lookman get at least 30 games under his belt next season in the royal blue. Cup starts and impact sub in the league AT LEAST

I am intrigued eggs about the formation and how we are going to play - its so hard to predict at the moment.
For sure though, if we have Lozano/Kluivert, Lookman, Walcott, Bolasie fighting for berths on the wing it would be interesting. Wonder if Walcott might get his wish at times to play through the middle, having Lozano/Kluivert and Lookman either side... Scary paced attack that.
I think Bolasie may well be shifted.
I still like the lad and think his injury has a massive part in his loss of form, but if one winger has to go then it should be him, imo.
I can see us signing 4-5 players this summer max. And tbf, as long as they're quality, first-team ready players, that's fine.
Let's give our £27m striker chance first, ey, in a team actually capable of producing chances.
..I think he could be amazing but then again he could go the way of other talented youngsters. He’s very comfortable on either side, truly two footed and he’s clearly confident in his own ability. He lacks purpose for me in that he’ll cut inside lots, going into areas of the pitch that don’t matter, rather than concentrating on hurting the opposition.
I think he needs to be coached and needs talking through games. Get at your full back, get beyond him and get into goal scoring areas when the ball is on the other side of the pitch.

We need to spend big on a good striker. DCL, Niasse, Sandro... all not good enough.
There's areas we need to target first -
Left-back
Centre-back
Central midfield
If we got Lozano in, we'd have Gylfi, Lozano, Walcott, Lookman (hopefully) all joining that forward line (assuming Bolasie would be shipped out).
I agree a striker would be good, and somebody like Dembele from Celtic may well be ideal for that role, but there's priorities elsewhere.
Have to agree. I imagine people wouldn’t have to go too far back in this thread to find people commenting on a performance where very little was delivered.
He’s clearly got talent and is still a young kid. He needs to be played and allowed to develop his talent. I think he can be great but people are going over the top.

For me we need a real athletic midfielder.
I'd look at Loftus Cheek but I get the feeling we will look overseas with Brands and Silva here.
