Well in Lookman, made up for him. Should of been starting games for us. But hopefully hes boss for Leipzig and stays at us when he comes back
hopefully he doesnt ask for transfer etc,as he might if he keeps getting game time elsewhere, and if he comes bk and see's sam is still here, that might make him want to go even more, defo after what sam says today and the past couple of weeks,as you can be sure lookman is reading it

That's the whole set up in Germany though.

Yes I know and it's very refreshing to see. How else can you expect your young players to succeed? Leipzig have obviously been looking at Lookman for a while, the lad will feel a million dollars tonight whilst we all wallow in the [Poor language removed].

I've said it before but when we appointed Steve Walsh I fully expected we would be developing our own talents and bringing in lesser known prospects on the relative cheap. Instead he's identified Mangala. What a hero.

Lookman should of been playing alot more under all our managers this season. Hes a bright spot almost every time hes plays and you think something positive will happen every time he got the ball.. but no hes young and might lose the ball trying to take someone on so no your loaned out.. i hate everton at the moment haha.

I'm in no way a defender of Walsh, but he also identified Lookman though, didn't he?

Can't believe I missed this. Kept on switching over to see if he'd come on and gave up in the end.

How did he do? I know he scored but apart from that. What was the goal like?

I think there is links to the goal 3 or 4 pages back in this thread. He was very progressive, took a pass from Keita, and drove into the box, angled shot, a bit underhit but perfectly placed, goalie couldn't get hand to it.

He did fine, it was a tough game, 2 evenly matched teams sort of cancelling each other out, but Leipzig decided to go for it later on and where worthy of their win.

Few minutes before scoring he actually gave the ball away in a rather dangerous area, but those things happen, and his team mates made sure to close things down.

Looks that way and for the fee we paid just like Sandro it's relatively risk free. I'd say both are a job well done from Walsh, the rest of the more outrageous purchases not so much. I guess things might be different next season but I'm disappointed we haven't tried to develop Lookman and Sandro ourselves.

Because we haven’t got a management structure in place to give youth the opportunity. You would think, we’d been playing well this season and banging in goals for fun with their continued exclusion.

He's a good coach, he is very pragmatic. He knows how to work with what he has, and will change accordingly. And is obviously very willing to work with young players and work well with then. He trusts them and lets them make mistakes and coaches them well.

Before Leipzig he was with Ingolstadt, and did a really good job with a small team with a small budget, but the football wasnt' anywhere near as good as with Leipzig - which is why I say he is pragmatic. Not the sort of coach who would try and coach excting football if he doesnt have the tools at his disposal.

But I don't think he has ever made noises about moving from Leipzig at this time.
Bet he's not on £6m a year.

I'm stunned with every single thing this oaf says now.

An Everton manager talking like that. FFS, that's appalling.
Good to see you're now fully on board mate. I would be lying if I said I wasn't surprised by your initial acceptance of him as our manager, but now I can see that you were playing the long game all the time.lol

Not a single other player in our squad could do anything remotely like that after picking up the ball where he did.
In fairness Walcott is very capable of goals like that. But I agree he doesn't have Lookman's skillset. His short stature gives him a low centre of gravity and brilliant balance. Managed and developed properly this kid has star potential.

He's probably better off away from Goodison whilst Allardyce is here. My concern, as I said on Wednesday when news of this first broke through, is that he may get a taste for the good life that we won't be able to offer him.
