Anyone remember a certain attitude towards two certain irish players we've sign in the past? Now how did that turn out? I think we have a similar situation here. Just because he's irish everyone believe he's average at best, but once we sign him he'll turn out to be boss. Just wait and see.

...IF we sign him. And if we do, it means Bobby likes him...and that'll do for me

He's a really good player, always fun to watch but isn't the player of the standard we should be aiming at. He isn't getting any better, perfect for a midtable club with little ambition.

Squad Depth... we all say the thing stopping us from actually getting top 4 is squad depth. I believe he would be a perfect addition for this reason

Just get him on loan for 6 months, gives us vital depth against weaker teams where he can go at them. But couldn't see him with us past this season and I wouldn't want to.

From what I've seen of McGeady, he's nowhere near good enough to play for Everton.

Additionally, his old manager at Celtic, one Martin O'Neill (aka Arty Ziff) has just pronounced that he is not surprised that McGeady has fallen out with his coach at Spartak Moscow because, in Ziff's words, "He's a cantankerous git".

In other words, don't touch him with a barge pole.

Selective quoting there - he actually said:

"I know Aiden, he's a great lad with great ability. He's a cantankerous git. He'll be fine.

"If he's in the reserves for six months, he'll blow a gasket out there, he'll go mad. McGeady... honestly, he'll not stick that long. Would I expect him to move? I'd have thought so. I've tried to get that boy umpteen times. If there is six months left, I can't imagine them (Moscow) getting phenomenal amounts. He's good enough for the Premier League, absolutely."

All that suggests to me is that he's not happy with not playing. There's nothing wrong with that; it's a winners mentality.

I know Aiden, he's a great lad with great ability. He's good enough for the Premier League, absolutely.

When it comes to Arty Ziff's opinions on a player, I'd prefer to listen to Ned Flanders.

you quote O'neill and then rubbish your own quote ?! McGeady won't cost much, he'll take a big wage cut and he'll be better than Naismith. Worth a punt IMO, if it doesn't work out, it won't be a huge loss. He's better than Mcfadden was, I'm just not sure how much.

The "Let's trust the manager" brigade must be out to lunch on this subject

Funny how that happens the moment he goes after a player they don't like

Double standards?

Surely not

Some prefer to use their own brains and think though mate, blindly following any decision made because its 'our roberto' making it is stupid in the extreme, Moyes signed some great players like arteta, he also signed some utter **** dross players, each one should be evaluated and if we the fans dont think someones good enough were right to voice that opinion

Then again you think kennedy is good enough having not cottoned on to the fact the people who watch the reserves reckon he isnt anywhere near good enough or showing any signs of being so
