Aiden McGeady

My brain can't even comprehend what he actually did. I take it he can't cross to save is life tho.

Irish lids who've watched him a fair bit for the national side seem to think his delivery is pretty sh*t. That video suggests the same. Ah well, Seamus can barely cross himself and still manages to be boss, so as long as Aiden puts a shift in, he will be okay, hopefully.

From the video he looks like he'll at least be able to do a job like Deulofeu coming off the bench and for a decent fee I'd be pleased with that. It gives Martinez room to manoeuvre with tactics and rotation plus it keeps the likes of Pienaar and Mirallas on their toes because I doubt McGeady wants to be collecting splinters in his time here. If he has pace and skills it might not be out of the question him developing a final ball playing with better players, after all even Tony Hibbert managed to figure out how to put a decent cross in so a tricky winger like him has no excuse not to learn.

Twitter is pretty active with talk of him signing tomorrow, apparently he's here for a medical (so Twitter says)

If Roberto likes him we need to trust him. I remember Maloney pre-Martinez, he had no end product either and he improved....

Ive read/seen on twitter that it could be a pre-contract agreement for him this Jan and he'll sign on in the summer. Tbh, i think we could do with him now, give us the options out wide for the rest of the season.

Ahhh but mind you we don't cross that much anyway do we more short passes round and into the area so he could be top banana at that.

We won't buy anyone that we're linked with, it's the Everton way, always kept under wraps until the deal is done. I don't mind who we get linked with because it's most likely bollocks.

his assists figures are pretty good

I've been going to Ireland matches for years, he has no delivery, end of. Although he does create a lot of opportunities for others as teams tend to double up on him as he skins the life out of defenders. Admittedly its usually poor teams that do that.

The real draw back against him for me is that he tends to switch off defensively a lot, especially when he is feeling sorry for himself when he hits the first man with a corner, again.

If he hits the first man with a corner, he will fit in fine.
