Not good enough. Not basing it on today either, just isn't Premier League quality. Get rid along with Pienaar.
If you're basing it on this season's form you can get a dumpster and put them all in. None of them have been 'good enough'. Not by a long chalk.

He doesn't even look like he believes he is up to this level.

Which is fortunate, as he is right

The defenders in this league are a step up from what he's been faced with all his career. He cant outpace them and that seriously limits his attacking potential. Pienaar is in the same boat but his saving grace has always been his retention of the ball. McGeady is not doing that. He's done a job defensively over the past few weeks, and a good one at that. But maybe that takes the energy away from what he should be out there to do. Very few wingers can do both tasks - Mirallas isn't even arsed about stepping into his own half, for example.

I like these types of players though. He's a got a trick or two in the bag and he produces them when confident. I've always suspected he's best over on the other wing where he can step inside onto his right. But I think Martinez might see Mirallas as wasted on the other flank with Coleman making surging runs.

Mirallas has shown in the past two games just how steep the difference is between our best and 2nd best winger.

Still better than Atsu, mind. The only thing that lad has is pace, and yet 10 times out of 10 he cuts inside, and loses it.

Not think he's quick? I'd say he's one of our quickest players personally. Such a confidence player but he does have ability, agree with you totally on the right wing being an issue as all of our wide players are better on the left. Coleman needs somebody to combine with.

From what I see he has a turn of speed that works for him only over short distances. He gets a result in terms of crossing when he's got about 10 yards in front of him to hit the goal line allowing him just enough room to ping a cross in past the defender before they recover ground. I dont see him too often burning defenders off from further out in the manner that say Mirallas does.

He's like the skilful lad from high school who was dead boss at stepovers but often ended up tripping over his own feet and was all-in-all rubbish at football. He's Championship standard at best. Wasn't a fan when we were linked with him (a la Robles, Alcaraz, Kone) and think he is just as bad now.

He defo hasn't had a massive effect, there's no denying it. But we're really not privy to what the manager sees or views his role as. Imo, Martinez knows that you cant have two wingers high up the pitch when you play a system whereby both your FBs are given license to do that. Something has to give, and Mirallas being back in the team means that McGeady has to make sure he's the one to give defensive balance by remaining there or thereabouts on the halfway line ready to help Coleman out going forward and defensively...which, as I argued above, is way too far out for someone like him to profit from.

For me, if you play McGeady at all then you do what Martinez told him to do last season and tell him to forget about funnelling back to help out. You just give him the responsibility of getting one on one with a FB in and around the box.

Dont know what he did wrong to be dropped after Thursday to be honest. Despite his miss he was very good against Wolfsburg, and guess what, with him and Mirallas either side of the attacking midfielder the team was balanced, lol at our balance yesterday. It was non-existent.

Also, i think for him to make an impact he needs to start, time and time again he's come on as a sub and contributed very little, he's better when he starts.

I think he's being groomed to inherit Osman's role in the squad as the slow, frustrating player who gets knocked off the ball easily but has 1 good game in 6.
