Aiden McGeady

Starting to think he's not quite up to it. He's definitely not the standard of player we need to come fourth, not sure he's even Europa League. He's a decent squad option, but shouldn't be considered for a start when everyone is fit.

Mirallas has shown in the past two games just how steep the difference is between our best and 2nd best winger.

Still better than Atsu, mind. The only thing that lad has is pace, and yet 10 times out of 10 he cuts inside, and loses it.

mirallas is better than mc geady that for sure ,but mc geady gives you something coming back the other way mirallas doesn't.

McGeady puts in a very good defensive shift but I think people are doing Mirallas a disservice. Unlike when he first moved here he most definitely does get stuck in.

Wouldn't surprise me if Martinez told him to do less defending than under Moyes because he's probably the most unpredictable player in the team and the player with the most consistent record of producing moments of magic.

agreed, no disrespect to our most exciting player. looks like he has been told to stay up

He does alot of defensive work, but Im not convinced he has enough quality going forward.

Not bad squad player, but get the impression he would rather be the best player at a smaller club.

I think he is best crosser of the ball we have at the club, He's also a good passer. But he loses the ball too often and really he need to score more goals

This is one thing that annoys me as the morons on here don't seem to grasp this fact, and instead just moan like bitches when Lukaku doesn't cover 15km in a single game.

Indeed. It's amazing how everyone seems to think that players just go out there and do whatever they want. They're all under very specific instructions, and sometimes deserve a bit less flak. And arguably Bobby might deserve a bit more.

You truly can't win though. Everton fans lambasted Moyes for making his wingers focus on defending, and now we're criticising match-winning wingers for not tracking back enough?

I've only ever seen him play for Ireland before he signed for us and he's lived up to what I'd come to expect - endless stepovers, beating a man with ease only to stop and let him catch up, running down blind alleys etc. His shooting seems to have improved as has his covering of the fullback. He's always been regarded as a frustrating, headless chicken in Ireland but since he joined us the impression is Martinez has improved him. Don;t really see it to be honest but maybe he'll go on a streak of games where he gets a few assists/goals and he'll repay the small sum we paid.
