I was ripped to shreds when we signed this chap and before with alcaraz and kone...theyre donkeys.

Martinez needs to sort himself out on the signings front as he seems to waste a lot of money on donkeys.

He has the ability to do all the hard stuff and get around his man to put a ball in, but seems to lack the concentration to do the easier stuff with some of his little passes around the box going astray when they shouldn't really. His ability to get past a man with a bit of magic and put a quality ball in is what you want from all your wingers, particularly when you have a side sitting back that is hard to break down. However the sloppiness of passing can also hurt us, gifting them possession and allowing them to break on us. I can certainly see why he's polarised the forum. I think perhaps when the team lineup is more solid and not so changeable when we get players back from injury we'll see more of the McGeady we see in glimpses, as he gets the chance to form partnerships and understandings with the players around him.

I reckon calling him a SPL player is harsh, he's got the quality to be at least a top 10 PL side winger, albeit he is a frustrating player as many wingers are. Whether he can perform consistently at the level we need him to be (Top 4/5/6 winger) remains to be seen.

McGeady did more in 5/10 minutes than Osman did all game. He gets unfairly criticised by our fans. Granted he's a very annoying player to watch at times, but even when he does well, people slate him.

Judging by your opening line, you're an Osman-hater like so many on this board. Then you go on and say that about McGeady, when so few Osman-haters are prepared to give Osman any credit when he has a good game.

I'm not actually. I don't think he's good enough these days for the first 11 at all, but as I said in a different thread, he is suited to certain types of games. West Ham being one of them. last night unfortunately wasn't the game for Osman and he had a poor night.

ok fair enough. It just read quite amusingly to me, is all. Sorry for the scurrilous accusation.

And I agree with your assertion, he is not good enough now, but has been more than good enough in the past.
