Ive never seen the lid play, EVER, I have no viewpoint on him yet.

My gut tells me he isnt very good tho, but who knows.

Only seen a bit from him when still at Celtic. Not enough to form an honest opinion though. I admit I was/am hoping for a higher profile kind of signing, but in the meantime happy to put my trust firmly in the hands of Martinez, his coaching staff and scouting network.

If he pisses about with the ball instead of getting his crosses in he wont last 5minutes at Goodison.

He'll be 1 on 1 with the full back, beat him, turn back and beat him again, turn back and beat him again with a little trick then put his cross out for a goal kick.

A Naismith then?

Nah, a lot more technical than that. Pienaar is the perfect example for the role. I think Mirallas is suffering as he can't do it as well in tight (needs a bit of room to work), will be interesting to see if Mirallas is a possible long term solution as an impact striker.

I'm a bit turned around on Naismith to be honest. He's a grafter, a good defensive winger. In baseball terms, he'd be known as a "closer", who you bring on to see out the clock and run his arse off.

Doesn't really delight me, no. I can see the logic of another winger so that Mirallas is able to be used as a striker if Lukaku goers down to injury.

If we're looking to get players on the cheap we could wait for Albrighton at Villa - in the final year of his contract and I dont think Lambert fancies him. I've always thought he looked very decent and someone like Martinez could get the best out of a winger like him. Only just turned 24 too.

Yes I really liked him when I first saw him on the scene....but seemed to disappear, was he injured or....?

Very odd indeed. 24 is young of course but have to wonder what happened there.

I will say this tho, people I trust havent heard his name mentioned once, at the moment its only the press linking us to him, no smoke without fire? Maybe.

Didnt Messi say he was the best player hes ever seen once?

Fck it, sign him Bobby, its been ages since we had Beagrie.

Quick question - don't Russian contracts end on the 1st January every year? Unless it's an odd contract McGeady still has a year to go doesn't he, so we won't get him on a Bosman in the summer.

In early August 2010, Celtic accepted an offer of around £9.5 million from Russian side Spartak Moscow and McGeady travelled to Moscow for talks.[10] On 13 August, McGeady completed his move to Spartak, signing a four-and-half-year contract.

At the club since: 01.08.2010 - 3 years, 5 months and 0 days
Contract until: 30.06.2014

Wouldn't four and a half years from August 2010 be January 2015?

TBF Pienaar has very little end product. His crossing is poor and a lot of his foraward passes don't come off. He still contributes. Mcgeady could too, in a more direct way.
