looks certain now. 1/10 he is signing for us
But he's a free, so low-risk. Might be useful like how Donovan was useful for us.
Best case McGeady comes in with something to prove and adds pace and skill, but worst case he comes off the bench occasionally and leaves in the summer. Low-risk, not like we need an upgrade at his position badly.
Actually, worst case is he sings on good wages for a few years, doesn't contribute anything and is a drain on fairly limited resources.
I think he'll do ok for us if he signs but i'm pretty sure he's not just going to sign for 6 months
He sings as well? Sign him up Moyes.

I think I have a post earlier in this thread talking about how frustrating he can be. I still find this when watching him play for Ireland, but I think he'd work in our team. Definitely think it's worth a punt!
You have a point. Kev mirallas is frustrating too but you would still want him in your line up each week cos you know he has the ability snd is very dangerous.
But a free ?? No brainer for me.
Having watched McGeady for a number of years at Celtic he will more than do a job for us, as stated already he has plenty of pace and tricks to beat the opposition, his crossing isn't as bad as people are making up and as someone said in the last page about it being more frustrating when a player beats 2 then sends in a cross either too long or goes straight out this was the case at Celtic. In his first season there where plenty of reports in the Scottish papers about him preforming well and i think they could have won the league that year??? He will be just as good as Pienaar so i suspect he'll be initially on the bench but will force his way into the team. You've got to remember that Roberto has been tracking him for 2 years now and he was close to signing for Wigan last Jan.
On a side note, all this negative talk about Naismith is bugging me. Everton have not seen his best yet and that's due to him not playing in his preferred position as a striker. He is great in the air considering his size and some of the goals he's scored for Scotland, i.e. the one against Spain, where exceptional finishes. Under Gordon Strachan he was played as the lone striker and considering we have the likes of a free scoring Jordan Rhodes, Steven Fletcher and Ross McCormack.
It could always be worse, we could have someone like Aspas on the bench
