Inevitably he'll frustrate more than he delivers, so my worry is, is he good enough off the ball to track back and not let the rest of the lads carry him. We'd have to have Barry or McCarthy always close by to the lad to pick up the pieces given how often he tries to beat his man.

Would be nice to see him completely embarrass the Liverpool full backs though wouldn't it.

Do yer know half the time most players are a gamble. Quite often the ones you expect to be boss when signing for various teams not just us, often end up underperforming or flops , then the un heard of name or underwhelming signing ends up being brilliant!

Just have to wait and see!!

A Celtic fan has just told me that McGeady routinely led the league in cross completion percentage and that that is often overlooked by calls of him not having any end product.

Having watched McGeady for a number of years at Celtic he will more than do a job for us, as stated already he has plenty of pace and tricks to beat the opposition, his crossing isn't as bad as people are making up and as someone said in the last page about it being more frustrating when a player beats 2 then sends in a cross either too long or goes straight out this was the case at Celtic. In his first season there where plenty of reports in the Scottish papers about him preforming well and i think they could have won the league that year??? He will be just as good as Pienaar so i suspect he'll be initially on the bench but will force his way into the team. You've got to remember that Roberto has been tracking him for 2 years now and he was close to signing for Wigan last Jan.

On a side note, all this negative talk about Naismith is bugging me. Everton have not seen his best yet and that's due to him not playing in his preferred position as a striker. He is great in the air considering his size and some of the goals he's scored for Scotland, i.e. the one against Spain, where exceptional finishes. Under Gordon Strachan he was played as the lone striker and considering we have the likes of a free scoring Jordan Rhodes, Steven Fletcher and Ross McCormack.
It could always be worse, we could have someone like Aspas on the bench

Pienaar and McGeady are very different players.

Fair enough on Naismith out of position but in fairness a terrible touch, no composure and bad passing is what it is...I don't know if changing his position would rectify that.
