Aiden McGeady

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say i'd like to see McGeady at Everton.

When Deulofeu goes we'll have Mirallas as the first option, Naismith as backup and then next in line we're playing Seamus or Barkley out of position. McGeady will slide straight into that spot after Mirallas, and he seems to have a bit more fun in him than Naismith. Plus, i like our irish contingent and would happily host McGeady's attempt at making it in the Premier League.

feel free to vault me on all 3, i live in russia, ive seen mcgeady plenty of times to form a very firm opinion about his abilities and he is crap

It seems most think he's sh*te so the odds are he is actual turd.

I haven't personally seen enough of him to form an opinion.

Irish contingent of players born around Glasgow.

Honestly mate i dont normally talk ultra negative on a player were linked with unless i really know what i'm talking about, the league here isn't that great, probably on par with holland i'd say, and he doesn't impress here and has so many flaws for his game that i'd be wary taking him if he was like 20-21 with time to work on his flaws, at 26 i seriously doubt that martinez could turn him into anything more than what he is, and his level is not good enough for us by a long shot

Only ever got Gibson and Coleman horrifically wrong (but who didn't with Gibson), and I can assure you now he is hyper tosh of the highest order.

However, he'd probably do alright for us because of the players around him.

Was just saying the same in the silly season thread, oh no wait....

Saw him lots at Celtic - he was more interested in turning full backs inside out than he was in winning a game. He can look fantastic against a bad player, but a decent defender can just hold off and wait for him to do three stepovers and twerk before spooning the ball out for a goal kick.

I can only see the logic in this if he's essentially a free transfer and Martinez wants cover for Mirallas, which makes sense I suppose. He looks like he should work in a butchers, though.

he is exactly the same here in moscow mate

Probably about as confident as i've ever been about a player that he wont make it with us or at premiership level full stop - so far in his career his opponents have been mostly poor - SPL for celtic playing against League 2 standard full backs, Russian league a step up but still nothing to write home about, international for the republic he's been poor overall too, anonymous against the big boys and frustrating against the minnows - so cant see how he's suddenly going to turn into a successful player with us when he wasn't the finished product against poorer opposition
