Airtricity League of Ireland 2022

Another poor performance by Rovers at Oriel. They seem to just wilt when playing there.

Fair dues to Benson and Dundalk - deserved win, and Benson loves scoring against Rovers.

OK, bozos next, at a sold out Tallaght. I really hope Byrne and Burke are back. No creativity last night.

I know I sound like a broken record but ye really should have paid for Bradley's ticket to Lincoln that time, with the budget advantage ye have ye really should be well clear at the top. I fear he is going to cost ye in Europe again, by all accounts ye were absolutely awful in a friendly with Galway last week and followed that up with another brutal performance last night.

I know ye will win the league again but tbf any of us should win the league with that squad but I really do think ye are way below the level ye should be at and that is Bradley's doing

I won't knee-jerk, but interesting that no obvious reaction from SB after Friday, while McPhail is doing all the PR.

Glad to see determination to concentrate on bohs match.

This is a nice article, and lifted my spirits - delighted for the lad (wish he was at GP). He is a credit to himself, his g=family, SRFC and Ireland. I have no doubt he will go on to even greater things.

Another huge night.

I can't use my tickets for the Rovers-Bohs derby as Mrs BR is positive with CV - a life long friend will use one and get a good home for the other.

@NeroCeasar it seems that SB's young lad is not well, and this explains his absence in Dundalk. Nothing worse than having a seriously ill child, and my prayers are with him. Puts things into perspective.

Hopefully the lads go out and do it this evening. Shels v Dundalk is also a huge game.

Elsewhere,

Drogheda v Sligo Rovers

UCD v Derry

Finn Harps v St Pats

Ya I saw that. Nobody would wish him and his family anything but well, I for one certainly do. Just hope we don't hear anything inappropriate coming from the bohs end tonight.
Bohs nowhere near good enough for ye, I'd imagine.
Did you see Waterford are for sale again and valued at €1.3m? Some of the maddest things I have ever seen written down there

Then the owner, Forrest, released this statement

WATERFORD FC STATEMENT
It has been brought to my attention that an article by Gavin Cooney of The 42 in relation to the sale of my football club Waterford FC has been released today (23/06/22).
I am deeply disappointed that an Internal Board decision to illicit a commercial assessment of the club’s market value and potential interest of Waterford FC has been leaked to the press and presented as a forgone conclusion rather than a market value and current assessment of market interest.
To all Waterford FC respected and loyal supporters I would like to unreservedly apologise for both the timing and content of this published article as it would be my intention to share news that impacts the staff, team, players and fans directly to all of you.
Please be assured any significant changes that affect Waterford FC will be communicated to you in a timely and respectful manner.
In the meantime I am and remain the proud owner of Waterford FC and want us to focus on our next steps rather than be distracted by this.
Onwards with our next game against Bray Wanderers.
Yours in sport
Richard Forrest
Owner

"I am deeply disappointed that an Internal Board decision to illicit a commercial assessment ......"

Mr Forrest needs an advisor to review before releasing his STATEMENTs for publication???

A real case of winning ugly, particularly after a very poor first 30 minutes.

A lot better second half and the result is huge, with Dundalk drawing.

Not a good night for Bray sorry @dublinbluenose

Just seeing about the death of Cllr Jerry O'Dea, aged just 55. He was a strong supporter of Treaty United who now fly the Limerick flag in the LOI First Division - love to see them using the Market's Field which is such an historic LOI venue.

Gerry was due to become Mayor of Limerick next Thursday.

I honestly never knew the chap, but this is a very sad passing and my sympathies to all of his family and friends as well as to Treaty United supporters.

Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

Yet another victim in the fatal fifties....

Watched Drogheda v Sligo Rovers on Friday night, absolutely terrible stuff, the only thing worse than the performance was the away support, since LOI tv it has dropped of a cliff, I know people are saving for going to Europe and potentially 2 very doable away matches if we get by the first but still a dreadful away support.

Received a very warm minutes applause from everyone in Markets Field tonight, including the Cork City fans. City won 5-0, brilliant first half and just saw it out second half then, Galways 2 0 loss in Longford leave us 4pts clear again

Good for you Nero. Cork should be in the Premier.

Rovers keeping the show on the road last night - I was not confident away to Pat's always a tough place to go.

10 point lead over Dundalk but they have two games in hand.

Waterford roaring back into it now, won 8 on the trot and head to Galway Friday night. A draw there and us beating Bray would leave us 6 pts clear heading into our bye week, from which we come back to a home game against Galway on July 15th.

Premier Division is over, its all about Europe now
