I suspect he got too close to the supporters
Reading between the lines I would hazard a guess that he has been offered a much more significant job elsewhere, probably back in the media - BT Sport perhaps?
Hence his immediate resignation "for personal reasons". The statement says "he sees his future career away from the demands of Goodison Park"
Expect him to pop up in some major role in sports media in a relatively short period.

A real shame. It looked like he was doing an excellent job. He's been with us before, so you'd have thought that he'd have known what he was walking into. Phone cut off with immediate effect and no thanks to his seniors does point heavily at a falling out. Judging by the statement it seems as if Myers couldn't tolerate his working circumstances. Haven't Trevor Birch and Keith Wyness had similar experiences at the club?
Is there any source for this?Phone cut off without any grace period to transfer the number, omission of Kenwright or anyone else above him from his list of thanks.
There's been a falling out. You don't have to be a conspiracy loon to deduce that.
Did he get on with Suntan Bob. I think I know the answer already. If phone lines have been cut and Myers has left without name checking the hierarchy it suggests a falling out.
That's a difficult job for anyone going into. If mountain bike man can see off heavyweights like Ian Ross and now Myers he must have Kenwright's full support to do whatever comes into his head and others will find it nigh on impossible to do their stuff.
Such an ineffectual person too. I mean, you'd expect that level of power from someone who was able to nail down financial miracles all over the place. But we're talking about a man who failed big time on Kirkby, the Annexe and the Kitbag catastrophe.
Is there any source for this?
Just seen that, yes.The man himself said it on Twitter as copied in this thread.
There is a small but persistent minority of everton fans who delight in causing the club as much trouble as possible, this guy has been hounded out of a job by these morons on twitter.
Yes cast your mind back a few weeks to when he was getting a shed load of abuse on twitter,so much so he suspended his twitter account.
The man was like a breath of fresh air, a quality professional who improved the clubs PR no end.
Sad loss.
