Ive said before, I watched him a fair bit for Arsenal. Typical arsenal player, great athlete, sometimes looks close to being a world beater but just doesn’t have that consistency or end product. Underwhelmed when we signed him and I’ve seen nothing to change my mind since.

If you could merge Iwobi & Sigurdsson then you'd have a top 4 number 10, each has the attributes the other lacks. Instead we have two players who are just missing that extra something..

I dunno like. Doesn’t seem to have enough about him to play that role against top teams. Hope I’m proven wrong like but I would be surprised if he becomes a core player for us.

I´ll be honest and say having Iwobi as our long term number 10 doesn´t fill me with optimism. He´s not a great goal scorer, he´s not brilliant at ball retention and he´s not the type of player who goes and dominates a game. It´s not even a position he´s excelled in throughout his career.

For me he´s a decent addition to the squad in general and should be used in rotation like he was at Arsenal. Is that really good enough given the money we spent though?

That’s what I think. A typical ‘almost decent’ arsenal player of recent years. See Bendtner, Walcott, Chambers, Jenkinson etc etc. For some reason they just churn them out these days.

Obviously he could surprise us all and take his game to the next level but when´s the last time that happened at Everton?

If all our dreams came true and we got a world class manager in, I doubt they´re going to look at Iwobi and think that´s my number 10 sorted for the next few years. It´s probably the most important position in the system and he just isn´t the kind of player you´d want there.

I might be mistaken but he is only 22; get a proper manager to replace Sad Sack Silva and you might be surprised.

I just don´t see it and neither did anyone at Arsenal. If he was back on the market for the same price now, would any of the top 8 teams in the league be interested? And don´t get me wrong, he´s decent, just not the player we needed to help turn the club around.

He didn't play centrally at Arsenal though.
