What I dont like about him as well is he comes across as the stereotypical pampered footballer who would rather arse about on social media and do "mad tings" than actually get his head down and go into a battle.

If no one is interested in him in England I hope some German outfit take a punt on him as he offers nothing here imo and its been near 2 seasons here.
100%, he’s hardly a player you’d want to be relying on in a tough game, he has ability but nowhere near good enough, don’t know what @bicycleheader problem is with the finger

I know he's contributed more this season but it's just not enough.

He has pace but didn't want to take on players, his final ball was poor and he just jogged around slowly with his hands clenching his sleeves like he was cold.

Early on he lost the ball near our box and lay on the floor watching as they attacked.

Pure confidence player, capable of some fantastic reactive stuff now and then but I think he's his own worst enemy, just too fragile mentally, a bit like a barkely in some ways - given any space or time on the ball that allows for a look up and a decision to be made/options to choose from, then its getting fluffed every bloody time by him, the world class players thrive on being allowed a split second or half a yard and they will produce. James despite his lack of pace and physicality creates a yard or 2 every time he receives the ball, won't be heckled off it by grok cb's or cdm's without drawing a foul usually, I won't be drawn in to complete criticism of this lad as he has the potential to change a game off the bench and he has played the odd belter of a game for us, squad / rotation player at best for us next year I'm afraid

Genuinely, when were these odd belters? All i have seen is poor and better than his usual poor. I think people want him to do well so even a basic game for him is hyped up.
I would honestly have a kevin kilbane type over iwobi. Someone who at least tried and came off the pitch having gave it everything.
Even when he starts i cant remember off the top of my head when he wasnt hooked in a game.

He had a few games there where he provided some valuable assists and passes and worked hard defensively. I still think he can come good. But as soon as he stops playing, its like he's starting from ground 0 and working things out again.

Still think he's worth keeping.

So many sad acts on here. Young professional footballer decides to use some of his abundant lockdown time on creative activity and gets slagged off! Yeh, far better that he just does what you lot do - read GOT and watch porn. :)
He is not very good footballer at the moment. Curiosity, what creative activity is he doing? As long it's not cliche music, if it is he deserve the wrath.

One of those players with more excuses than good performances

“He’s a 10”
“He needs a marauding RB behind him”
“Oh now he’s a RWB”
“He needs a run of games”
“He needs better players around him”

those players always end up getting moved on.

I have to say he looks like an awful player. Carlo cannot pick him for the Chelsea game. He is so poor I do not think even Carlo can sort him out, but who knows?.
