2020/21 Alex Iwobi

Hit and miss player, seems not to be able to put a consistent run together , maybe due to selection , but offers less than he gives when given the chance.

Ideally sell him for £21 million as that covers his ffp book price this summer. However whatever we get for Bernard can be taken off that and it will even its self out. With them both gone it gives Gordon a chance to be Richarlisons understudy.

Absolute sh1te, shcoking player, a professional football player who get's paid thousands of pounds a week and can't even cross a frikkin ball

Fwiw there are tons of these but most of them aren't put in a position where they're repeatedly asked to cross. The management of him has been shocking even if he was never going to be any good. Time to move on I'm afraid.

I'm going to be a bit kinder here. He's an enigma. Somewhere in there, there is a player. But he's bafflingly bad at times. Lessons learned from folk writing off Davies, DCL, Siggy prematurely... I live in hope he'll come good.

But when he is bad, he is real bad.
There's been no lessons learned from writing off Davies and Siggy. I will give you DCL.

The other 2 still have a long, long way to go to make up the over 3 years worth of crap performances before anyone can say people were wrong about them.

Iwobi isn't an enigma. Hes just a crap player.

The lesson from Davies is that giving a player a consistent role doing things that their skills call for is helpful for having them play better.

He's had about 2 good games.

I'm not going to start praising him simply because its been 5 years of the lad and he's had a handful of good performances in that time.

It's pure recency bias. Hes not yet proven anybody wrong. If him and Siggy could do it for the majority of a season like Dom has then I will change my tune.

Tom has been our best midfielder since Allan got injured.

A frustrating player.
You can see the potential in him. He has pace, he can carry the ball well, he gets into really good situations..... and then hasn't a clue what to do next.
Kicking a ball into the legs of a defender standing straight in front of you is hard to explain. Even if the logic is that he is hoping to gain a corner it is still poor because he is already in a good attacking position.

I would like to see him get a run in a more central position.

I'd argue Sigurdsson.

Tom has been good recently, I won't deny it.

He's been poor for 4 years before this and if he can finish the season strongly then I will come around to the idea that he isn't just in the squad to fulfill a homegrown quota.

Iwobi has looked good for about 2-3 games this season. People were doing the same thing to him then as they are doing for Tom and Siggy now. It has to be consistent or they revert back to the mean.
