Reminds of the Bilyaletdinov arguments back in the day “He’s not a winger... needs to play behind the striker” he just wasn’t good enough and was rightly moved on... to be fair to him though at least he got his fair share of goals and contributed to some goals with assists, Iwobi doesn’t even do that.
Think it's become a lot more common in recent years. The move towards players with the physical attributes to succeed and the tendency for teams to look at players who can 'play all across the front three' etc has meant that a lot of players aren't actually particularly good in any set position. I don't think it's a good thing by the way, and I don't mean it as a defence of him, just think it's fairly standard now.
I think its a fair point. Players like Iwobi and Traore being at pl team is a an example of how little coaches value a football brain over physical attributes.
I'm exaggerating but if Messi was on trial at a pl club I doubt he would get a second look haha.

Fantastic, well done to you. I’m sure you’re a hugely reliable source yourself. He has played centrally and I’m sure most Evertonians will attest to that. He’s a poor player and should be replaced
Iwobi was asked to play a role last evening that was alien to him... but the problem for the manager is that he wasn't able to satisfactorily do the job asked of him.
He can offer an attacking threat, but not consistently so.
He has had lots of opportunities in different positions and in different roles and unfortunately is just not convincing.
I am not sure that we can easily find a buyer who will pay a reasonable transfer fee and therefore I think he may remain as a squad player who can play in a few positions and every squad will have a few players like that.

Its just a confirmation that we simply will not progress with the likes of him.
Ignore the fact he does nothing constructive in play. Its his lack of desire that kills me. Any captain worth his salt would grab him by the neck in the dressing room and say listen you, you're a fraud. I havent seen you go into a tackle and ever mean to win it.
Tippy tappy will run around a bit but do nothing fraud, and being carried by others.
He CAN NOT be an option going into another season.
