Against Chelsea
Passes forward by Iwobi

Passes Backward by Iwobi

So having a high % complete is more likely as you're going backwards most of the time

Comparing with Digne who was on the opposite flank

That's Digne forward passes.

This is the only game that Iwobi started in the #10 spot and played the whole time there. The next week we played an unchanged team but Bernard got hurt early and Gylfi came on shifting Iwobi wide. He's never gotten another chance.

I suggest everyone watch it but I'll summarize. It shows 6 attacks of ours in open play. Iwobi is important in 5 of them. A couple of times he transitions the play from defense to attack, the thing no one in our midfielders does currently, leading to decent openings. Once he plays a great final ball and another he plays Walcott into the box. He also gets on the end of a chance and misses it but hey, players miss chances.

It's a complete performance and when I say I think he has more than Gyfli it's because the number of games where Gylfi has done all of this is probably about 0 as he's not good at the progression side of midfield at all. Yes he more often pops up for assists and goals but when that's all you're doing you should do it better than someone who tries to offer more.

So that's my piece. If you all still think he should shut up and get on with it down the right than fine, but imo we're wasting him and as a team that has debatably 5 or 6 good players that's a shame.

BIG IG going full Ricky for Wobes

I watched it when we played it.

You have a sample size of 1 match. It isn't going to convince people he should be starting as the 10 when we have James and Sigurdsson who are leagues above Alex Iwoeful.
If you knew nothing about those teams, say they were in the Swedish league, watched that game and then were told that #17 never played in the position again you'd think the team utterly nuts. Our fans see it as perfectly reasonable.

Yeah I knew someone would say that, but I'd wager Josh King is thinking he screwed up right now as he watches Josh Maja revive his career

He’s probably peed off that a lad who’s contributed pretty much nothing in 49 games is getting game time ahead of him tbh. Hopefully that will change this weekend.
