2020/21 Alex Iwobi

He’s probably peed off that a lad who’s contributed pretty much nothing in 49 games is getting game time ahead of him tbh. Hopefully that will chance this weekend.
Well I wouldn't expect King to have an impact on the right either because it is also not his position

If you knew nothing about those teams, say they were in the Swedish league, watched that game and then were told that #17 never played in the position again you'd think the team utterly nuts. Our fans see it as perfectly reasonable.
But thats the thing though.

We ALL know better. Hes 50 games into his Everton career and most of us have seen every game, the majority of which he has been crap in.

We aren't Alex Iwobi Development FC. We are Everton FC and we want to win footy matches. If Iwobi can't find a way to make a contribution here then it is on him. Just like Lookman before him.

Moaning about not getting his way on his insta goes some way toward indicating the level of professionalism we can be sure he's showing behind the scenes as well. Players like that don't get what they want, he has to earn his place in the squad in his chosen position by making himself undroppable. He just isn't good enough to do it. So if he doesn't like it he can go to Brighton.

He should make himself undroppable in the position he doesn't get to play is some kind of logic.

I think he's done an admirable job at doing something for no reward at all that he's not meant to do this season.

Yeah I knew someone would say that, but I'd wager Josh King is thinking he screwed up right now as he watches Josh Maja revive his career

The same Josh Maja who has 2 goals in 7 games and were both against an Everton side who couldn't be arsed? Wouldn't say its a revival when he was playing a decent amount of minutes in Ligue 1 as well

No he has to make himself unstoppable when given an opportunity to play anywhere on the pitch.

Don't see Ben Godfrey moaning about playing left back do you?

Probably because he isn't a massive bell. Godfrey has earned the right to ask to play in his favored position. Iwobi hasn't.

Yes at approx 4 mins 45

That was a rare example of him making a great forward run to get in the box, but the finish was awful

He is a talented player but his running off the ball is nowhere near good enough
All of his end product is awful.

Hes good at running the ball up 30 yards and passing it back. That's what he has to his game.

Worth remembering this isn't the first time he's moaned about this. If none of his previous managers have trusted him to play centrally, that tells a story in itself.

Which is why I'm suggesting maybe using him in a position that allows him to focus on transition play, which isn't awful and even yesterday wasn't, and less in end product.

But no, he should make himself undroppable doing the thing he stinks at.

Mad that no manager has kept him as a number 10 despite it being his best position. Proper mad, all these managers not having a clue.

Reckon I could play number 10 for Nigeria as well lol

The thing is he stinks at all of it. One good game isn't enough to say he's suddenly going to be not crap as a 10.

If he can't even do the basics in the positions he's been played in most of his career, whether he thinks it is his best position or not, how can you justify changing the whole team so suit him?
