It's hard to respect how confident you are about being wrong.

To be fair , one of the main reasons that he cited for signing for Everon was his desire to play in his desired position ( central - didn't actually say no10 on the interview ) which clearly infers that he wasn't being played there for Arsenal.
I may not have watched the entireity of every Arsenal game but we have a little TV programme over here called Match of the Day which shows the highlights of every team every week and my eyes tell me that pretty much every time he played for Arsenal he played wide.

I think a funny thing being lost here is that a player said "I feel I play best in a different position" and a lot of Evertonians are going "nah mate you're definitely a right wing get your head down" like the dude is unaware of his own skillset.
Iwobi, according to Transfer market has played left wing 13 times and AMC 4 times for Everton, he has probably played well in about 2 of those games

He played wide LEFT. We're playing him wide RIGHT. For a largely right footed player this is a completely different position that asks you to do different things and use different skills. I reckon if he played wide left he'd be both better and largely content.

And we're also giving him time at right back so there is also that.

Of course he can say that. But it can also be seen as criticism of Ancelotti's assessments. However, his problem is that both JR and Gylfi are considered better in that position. He had the same problem at Arsenal, and will have the same problem no matter which top 10 club he goes to in England.

They have it as 5 at AMC for me in all comps. Two were EFL games where he played very well imo but I also don't need to count those. The PL games he started twice, once was West Ham in which he was brilliant (I'll link my post if you missed it), one was the next week against Brighton where Bernard got injured in the first half and he was moved to the left and the other was a sub appearance where he came on into a mess and didn't fix it.

For me the evidence we have is that he's a decent #10 and the objective should have been to find out how good exactly he is at it. Instead we made him a pseudo-right back.

I would argue that the assessment that Gylfi is better is dead wrong though. I mean Gylfi is doing the same things that limit how good we can be that he's always done but people seem to have fallen for it again.

When he went off last he looked like he couldn't be arsed, yawning n generally looking like he'd rather be elsewhere, i mean obviously thats only my observation from his body language

His body language to me said "f this crap." Which based on this post today I read as being done with trying to do something he isn't capable of only to be scapegoated and yanked off when he doesn't do it. I think that's understandably frustrating? We don't seem to be the type to hand out sympathy.

I'm taking the figure from transfer market, League games only, 13 LW and 4 AMC, even playing 17 games in his supposed "favoured positions" he should be getting more than 2 goals and 2 assists. He's a mid table level footballer and isn't good enough for Everton simple as that

Good players adapt to being played out of position, Godfrey at left back while Digne was out being a prime example

I dont have sympathy, he gets paid handsomely, so what hes having to play out of position, we have injuries

This season he's played 130 minutes on the left and has an assist.

I will not argue that Gylfi is a fantastic football player, but I would argue that the probability of scoring a goal is much greater when Gylfi is on the field versus Iwobi.
