Jesus is a month younger than Calvert-Lewin, and has already scored 107 senior clubs goals (plus 18 for Brazil).

If, like Calvert-Lewin, he had scored half that amount while playing for Everton, you'd be boasting about how he's going to play for City and be a regular for his national team when he grows up.
He looks more Iheanacho than Aguero to me. DCL in current form would win the golden boot playing for City.

I think you and I have just got polar opposite views on what makes a quality footballer.
Depends on the position obviously, if you had to move them to midfield obviously Jesus is better but scoring goals DCL is great, Jesus isn't and that is what they are paid to do.

So I guess Jesus is the better "footballer."

See, I'm not sure that Calvert-Lewin is a 'great' goalscorer.

13 league goals was a respectable haul last season, and he'll have done very well if he breaks 15 this time around.

I know people like to imagine that players will get incrementally better every year until they're whatever age is considered peak, but I'm not that a striker who is reliant on a very particular type of service is going to go down as one of the games great scorers.

(Especially if that service is being provided by Iwobi.)

We are a trash creative team. 15 goals wouldn't be a great season it would be a minor miracle assuming the last 12 games go the same as the last 15

I think people use the level of club he's at against him, Like going from Aguero to Jesus is obviously a huge step down but he's banged in 47 in 122, I think he's ridiculous for a back up striker.
As a backup sure but this year Aguero not being available made him more and he's not up for it.

I find it quite ironic that we have a player who has flopped so spectacularly at the club, trying to tell one of the most decorated managers in the game what he should do. If it was someone of the standing of say James or Richarlison you could maybe say he has a point. But I’m sorry the performances of Iwobi suggest he’s lucky to make the bench, let alone play his preferred number 10 role.

Yeah, I reckon you're right there.

It just baffles me how much stick he gets, despite moving to England from Brazil and becoming a regular in one of the best teams in the world at 19. It seems like some players are still developing and need time until all of a sudden they're 30, whereas others are a busted flush if they haven't replaced Aguero by the age of 23.

I actually think you're right, he probably should be given more patience, but right now today he's not anymore than an average player for me.

Would you apply the same logic to every striker who manages 10-15 in a limited team, or would it be hilarious for someone to claim that Neal Maupay would score 30 playing for City?
