I still think a focused Walcott is miles better than this fella which says it all.

Agree he looked shaky when came on but sometimes it’s hard to get to pace of game. I still think he’s a decent player, but looks better inside. Maybe he’s not what we need right now.

But can’t think of a single PL player that Walcott is miles better than. Nice lad, stealing a living since he joined.

I agree with you there but fans throwing pelters when James was knackered and we needed fresh legs. We seen the game out pretty well the last 15 minutes and everyone is working for one another. There is obviously some pressure on him. I think he will prove his value though the course of this season with better players around him. We should be rejoicing a good hard earned victory.

I'm sorry but Bernard is a much better option for me in those situations. The only thing iwobi has over him is size. Bernard's, touch control and vision is much better, its not all about having a big lad who can take it to the corner.

I agree with you with the Bernard shout to be fair. Especially in a game where we needed to keep the ball and kill the game. I just think giving a player stick in this given situation is a bit much to be honest.

It's got nothing to do with "ripping into him", Doucoure had a shocking first 20 minutes or so then gradually got into the game and played well.

Iwobi was on for 5 minutes or so and struggled to get into it like the rest of the team at the time who were dropping further and further back.

Iwobi was good in mid week too after a dodgy start. It can happen.

It can happen but he can't free from criticism. With a few minutes left, tight to the touchline the least welcome outcome would have been it going to Zaha with a free run on the wing to wip the ball into the box and that is exactly what happened. Yes he may have been given a bad ball and have been surrounded but in that case kick into row Z and reorganise.

To be honest, I was surprised that Alex Iwobi came on against Palace; judging by the way he played, I think he was too. The guy had plenty of energy but was quite erratic and seem to constantly give the ball away.

He looked like a young player too eager to make an impression. Whatever was going on in his head, he just needs to settle it down. When he Randomly smacked it into the Palace player in the middle of the field under no pressure, I couldn’t help but scratch my head in disbelief. He had a massive brainfart.

The day Roberto Martinez signed Aiden McGeady was the day I knew that he'd not amount to a hill of beans as Everton manager. The day Alex Iwobi was signed was the day I knew Marco Silva's days as Everton manager were numbered. Some players are clearly not worthy of the Everton shirt and this is self-evident to anybody paying attention. These are players who bring into disrepute the knowledge of the men signing them.

James, by contrast, is the opposite. Anybody not sent into paroxysms of excitement at the mere sight of him in a Liverpool hotel prior to signing has absolutely no concept of a quality football player.

In Iwobi's case, I just think he lacks the brain, the football smarts to make a career at our level. There's no way to coach that into a player. If we want to be a flash-in-the-pan side, we'll enjoy our three wins, fail to strengthen significantly further in this window, and delude ourselves into thinking Iwobi is a serious option for a side looking to attack the top six and win cups.

The midfield version of niasse pure turbo gash. Whats his actually traits, runs like hes dropped a number 2 in shorts, cant pick a pass or get the ball more than 2ft of the ground.

I just cant go back to that now. Had a taste of better quality. Attitude. Commitment. And i dread the thought he is waiting in the wings if a few are not available through injury or whatever. Which we'll be very lucky as the season goes on if that doesnt happen.
It'll be like your mobiles broke and the shop giving you a nokia 3310 for a few weeks.
