He was proper terrible except for precisely 12 seconds of that game.

I honestly don't know what people are thinking. You can't be rubbish for almost the whole match and just because you put in two passes you are exonerated for everything that came before. If he gives away possession that easily against a decent team we'll be done.

Hopefully it's a confidence issue and he will get better and better but I have bigger reservations than some North American Indian tribes.

Utter dogpoop. His assist for James was even a botched pass to DCL

He literally escorts opponents past him, positionally woeful and has the intelligence of my sock

In case I'm not being clear. I really don't like him

Never a botched pass. First thing James did was run to Iwobi after he scored that goal. Slow motion shows James was in his line of sight and Iwobi looking across to him.

And Iwobi's through pass to Doucoure was excellent too, which led to the fourth goal.

Iwobi grew into the game and became important in two of the goals.

In that group of about half a dozen who picked up a wage last season and basically took the piss.
2nd half yesterday was the first and i mean first time he has done anything worth of note in a blue shirt in league game that meant something. By that i mean he contributed in open play to goals.
Someone just said in the sigurdsson thread its amazing what the threat of being moved on can do to your attitude.
Got virtualy no time for iwobi. Still think we will carry him in games. Need more than just that 45 mins.

Except for the assist and the involvement in the fourth goal (which I know seems mad to criticise him despite this) I thought he was very poor in possession and so slow.

I used to think he was a fast player when he was at Arsenal.

It’s always been the way with some of our fans, player is crap the majority of the time then does a few decent things in a game, all of a sudden he’s a player.

Football fans generally go with the obvious - the highlight reels. They instantly forget everything else.

So Iwobi does two things well in a game = he played well.

I learned that with Lukaku. And before that I learned it with Moyes - I got slated on here when we beat Manchester City 2-1 under him, because I had the audacity to be outraged at how he shut up shop when we took the lead, recognising the pure lack of ambition. But we won the game, that's all that mattered to most on here - the bigger picture didn't matter.

I don't really get this idea that he did nothing aside from two moments. No, he didn't create a goal every time he got the ball but he was largely decent. And I especially don't get this idea that he isn't doing anything when we were defending. As always the numbers don't really back that up as he had 4 interceptions and won 2 tackles. But I don't really get how people are seeing that either.

Lukaku scored two goals last weekend and Lautaro didn't even start. Inter also won comfortably. Just in case you missed it.
