Apart from his powder puff attempt on goal I think you could argue that he did… but that’s based solely on a 20 minute cameo appearance.

That’s the main issue - he can look good at times but when he’s bad (which is quite often) he’s really bad, has been the same story throughout his career

I think people are overpraising him because hes been so amazingly bad.

He wasnt good and he wasnt bad bar the goal effort.

I thought he did well when he came on. Did nothing spectacular, but caused problems with intelligent and simple connecting play, stretching Southampton down the right and creating space. Fair play.

Credit where credit is due, he came on and played okay even close to well. He played a part in two goals, which people can't deny or ignore due to who he is.

I had the pleasure of being there and he did make a difference coming on. He did make one or two good driving runs at their defence which I hoped he would do more of. Was surprised but it was only Southampton! Let’s hope he keeps it going.

Yes, did what you want from a sub. Helped win the match. Shame he didn't score at the end.

I have been, a big critic of Iwobi over the last couple of years. But I was happy with what he did yesterday. I would also be happy if he would come good.

He seemed to play it simpler there was a couple of times he was in prime position to attack the bar line box and we ignored by Coleman, and he looked like he had a point to prove as Townsend put a decent marker down yesterday. He has ability but he is infuriating at times, doesn’t do the easy basics well but has dribbling ability and decent ball control. I will see how it turns out with Benitez. If he can turn it round great. If not move him on.
