What a zero sum game. We either get rid of Iwobi or keep our current team as is in perpetuity
We can only hopeI'm all for improving the squad. Just think we should start with out worst players, assuming the strategy is not transferring 10 players at one time and replacing them immediately with a different team
Think this might not be all the way true. Dyche shape is miles better than Lampard's so any midfield is going to look better. I'd like to see some experimentation. He is better in the middle but the team is better when we have that midfield 3 that is in.
I think it’s a matter of just shoehorning Iwobi into the team because we can’t leave him out. You want him on the pitch but you also want to follow Dyche’s philosophy and get a competitive midfield in. Hopefully Alex improves on the wing or we get that next Onana that can allow him to return to the middle.Think this might not be all the way true. I thought he was ok today. Hes a luxury player, but has got himself to a point where he makes an impact on games even when hes not at his best.
He also wasted a fair bit of time, and show composure in the ball in the final portion of the game. That shouldnt be underestimated. I know it's not the hipster stuff we all like, but we are a poor team, playing a particular way and that stuff is essential.
Scoring goals isn't a luxury
This ^^^^ I thought he played well, clever player……
Thanks mate.
I just felt in that last 15 minutes, get the ball to Iwobi, he would look after it and make the right decision. It's also interesting that when he gets in possession we often end up with a chance to score.
I've always felt good players look better when the game gets stretched. Hes one of them for me.
I'm surprised at the criticism, thought he was good today. I hope we csn get him signed down to a deal. We have put up with inconsistent performances, and it's good to be getting a pay off now.
Respect your opinion as always but I think he's absolutely shocking.
He makes the basics look difficult.
He runs about a lot and covers ground. But invariably he's sloppy on the ball, offers little aside from energy and he'd be one of the first out of the door for me.
And this is from someone who was so happy for him for the last six months of last season and opening part of this.
Do you think hes sloppy as theres not a lot to hit?
Everyone sees it differently, but I think he makes a lot of chances for us, in a side that doesnt have a lot of threat. Think he has one of the highest numbers of assists this season.
I put that alongside some really good defensive work, and for me he would be one of the last out currently.
But just my opinion.
I just don't think he's got a brilliant football brain or technique.
This is meant as a compliment but he's from the futsal style, street games isn't he.
Exceptionally quick and skillful but for me has large deficiencies which I think are the fundamentals of being a good footballer.
Id say he wouldn't get anywhere near a top 8 team tbh so for him to be seen as one of our better players is a shocking state of affairs.
