Seriously I hope not, I know he has been flavour of the month to many, but I just can’t get enthusiastic about his performances.
He wasn't the world's greatest player a month ago and he isn't the world's worst now. He's a competent PL footballer, he's shown glimpses this season of being more than that, but in the last few games he's been poor. Based on the three years of evidence we have it's not surprising that people are fearing the worst about him reverting to type, but I hope he can get back to his best levels again soon.
Don't think he's quite got the composure to play further forward where he has to turn with his back to goal and release the ball at speed - though that's not a hugely personal criticism as I think he's one of our best players.
I just think he's better suited a little further back as an 8, where he can turnover the ball and have the game in front of him. I think it would work much better if we had a decent attacking midfielder/wide forward ahead of him who he could play in as a link between the number 8 and the striker. The large gulf between midfield and attack at the moment is a huge problem

He's a bit to much of an 8 to be a 10 and we need a 10.

Give him a rest. Isn't garner the one we bought who can put his foot on the ball and dictate tempo, time to integrate him into the side as the current functional midfield isn't firing on all cylinders at the minute. I still think most of our issues are Gray and Gordon's decision making in the final 3rd.

He has 7 or 8 games that finally befit the shirt he wears and he is the messiah. The lad has 80 or so abject to dismal games since he joined us 2019. Trust in him will be low because he has not earnt it nowhere near.

Interesting take, not sure I agree, he's really turned it around but he'll still have off games. I don't think the blend is right in the middle. Time to give the young playmaker a go if you ask me. That isn't to say Iwobi is the one to drop I think he's still done as well, if not better than Gana and Onana.
Either way it's gone a bit stale and so Lampard needs to change something.

Simple I think, he’s excelled at a certain job and although he has “versatility” he’s not so good when asked to do something else.

Spurs he spent a lot of the game covering Coleman and Newcastle he did all Calvert Lewins closing down for him,no wonder he got took off,must have been knackered!!
