Hopefully his injury means we actually play some wingers out wide, be it Danjuma, Dobbin or Gray. We have a system that relies on width from our wingers then play central midfielders out wide.

Guys he created basically all of our danger against Fulham. There’s just no way they happened to double and triple up on him yesterday and it was by accident. They wanted us to play down the side with James Garner and we’re crap so it worked.

I will once again reiterate here that this is not to say Iwobi is amazing or anything like that, just if you’re a manager who are you betting on beating you Iwobi, Doucoure or Garner? It’s just an obvious way to play.

You’re not wrong but you’re also allowed to make plans to stop someone on the other team even if you don’t really need to and he’s literally the only person worth paying attention to. When we get a real right wing the equation will rightly change.

Hopefully we will sign someone in the transfer market who will overhit and bash the ball, 100 mph making it difficult for our own players to control and who can consistently break down our play and set up the opposition attacks.

If I was a manager playing against Everton my plan would be to make sure Alex Iwobi and Doucs were always available to receive the ball.

That way you dont even need to tackle to win the ball back, just wait for them to lose it.
