Entirely replaceable long-term wise. The issue is we've only got a couple of days left in this window now. Thelwell, if he's doing his job properly, should have targets in mind, especially considering the fact Iwobi was stalling on signing a new deal anyway.

Well thank god we didn’t because we’d now be stuck with Iwobi for another 4 years but on £100k a week after having a good 3 months.
He creates a huge amount of chances but we’ve had no one to finish them. I also think he’s better centrally which Dyche won’t do.

You don’t rate him which is up to you, but he’s one of our best players and getting £15m for him shows the situation we’re in.

We paid more than that for Mykolenko.

In fairness to kopite kev.

There has been interest in several new players this year. We've got 5 over the line, only issue is just time!

11pm tomorrow we will be able to provisionally judge his work, and then in a month or two we'll be able to categorically judge.

Does Pascal Gross? According to that list he’s better than Ward-Prowse, Eze, MacAllister and Bowen?
Better at performing that particular function - playing vertically through the lines, a skill that we have massively lacked since Barry moved on.

Keep him and let him go on a free next year or in January if we absolutely have to.

Could perform a key role for us this year

So he’s better than all those players I just listed? That’s what that nonsense chart is telling me.
No that’s not how stats work is it creating the most chances doesn’t make you the best player but it’s an indication of how effective you are and gross is very effective I don’t know why you think he’s not better than we’ve got. Iwobi isn’t great at all in an ideal world he’d be nowhere near the team but for a team like us it’s very silly to think we wouldn’t miss what he brings to the team. It’s similar to siggurdson he was annoying but you take away the threat he brought and suddenly goals are harder to find even though he had lots of faults.

But we’ll just put someone in Iwobi’s place (like Jack Harrison who we’ve signed) who’ll create the chances instead? People act like we’re losing a player from the starting XI and playing with 10 men as a result.

We won’t miss Iwobi. Since he’s become a key player for us we’ve done nothing but lose and battle relegation. I’ll be made up to never have to read his name in the Everton forum again or watch him waddle about pretend pressing on a football pitch.

He’s running down his contract, 12 months left

£15m is amazing value for him.

If I’m not mistaken it also shows profit for on the books which helps getting others in

I would have assumed £5-7m with a year left on his connie. If we could get more than £10m it's a very good deal, £20m it's deal of the century for us. But it only helps us if the money is reinvested IMMEDIATELY, as January could be too late.
