I'm drinking with him this week, I'll see if he knows anything but you're spot on about the club burying stuff.

As mentioned earlier in the thread too

To be fair, historically WRD has been absolutely spot on, this summer he's not been able to get the info as correct as previous years.

It's just not that sort of club anymore - remember reading about Moyes and the backroom staff going round cheering once they thought they'd got Pienaar on loan again, it was all over the forums well before being confirmed. People are well-meaning but it now looks a closed shop.

Bizarrely, the most accurate info I've ever seen on any forum is the lad who posts on Blue Moon, who lists all of City's targets for the summer as if he's printed them off for a Board meeting or written them himself.

Serious post and all but we're in different times. Maybe the marketing and PR department aren't quite yet with the programme but it will all improve.

Agreed. I, like most others around here, am still wrapping my head around the massive changes in our fortunes as a club compared to where we were just eight months ago! So, even though this Usmanov speculation seems like fantasy talk on an open forum for opinions, recent history has proven that anything, even the most unlikely, may well be possible. So, I too am not about to kill this idea (Usmanov investment) stone dead just yet. In the meantime, let's enjoy the waking of the giant that is Everton Football Club! Finally, we have something good to look forward to for a change.

Great post mate. I agree with you.

If I was a gambling man, I'd wager the innacurate info passed on by previously quite reliable people, coupled with practically every single thing which has happened doing so out the blue with no inside tip off prior, is down to connections at the club 'padding' info when they themselves have been shunted much further away from the source so to speak.

Plus the fact that the new owner makes final decisions and I wager not one itk has any sort of access to him, the new director or any of that new inner circle.

This is one of those rumours if you can call it that. If it happens then great we will win the league in a matter of years. But I have to agree with @The Esk who would buy 30% with no influence.

The only way I could see it is an investment firm with links to Kronke thinking that at its current value, or offering Usmanov less than value (due to his lack of influence at arsenal) and buying into a Kronke business plan that would see them both exit the club with a sizeable return. If I remember correctly Kronke bought Arsenal as an investment long term so if there is no exit plan then investors will not buy such an asset. However if both Kronke and A another see a way out to crystallise a forecast return then it may be on.

But there has to be some serious change in people's views of life at Arsenal.

Or if Usmanov was happy to take a bath on the current value of his investment and he sees an overall greater return by moving to Everton.

Either way, not impossible and there are people out there that would make it happen, but at the moment I can't see it.

I personally think there would be a huge interest in buying 30% into Arsenal, they are on a much bigger scale commercially and economically than we are.
The Chinese would all over that like a rash, they own most of London as it is!
It'll come down to wether Usmanov really wants his own plaything so to speak.

I know he was born Russian as such, given the geo-politics at the time but I'm sure he now considers himself to be a Uzbek. If he doesn't then I retract my tongue in cheek rant.

Probably regards himself as both mate tbh, wife works with a couple of girls from there and they regard themselves as Russian, guessing for the odler ones born when it was one big 'happy' block then they have that feeling even moreso
