Alisher Usmanov

Read esk's piece. Weird to ask why would anyone want to buy 30% of Arsenal. Why would anyone want to buy any percentage of anything if that's the case.

Why did Usmanov buy moshiri shares? To help his business partner make the first move in acquiring efc maybe?
This has been the grounding of the speculation certainly.

Evidence or not, it was always going to be suggested given their close ties.

There are strong rumours that Paul Brown is infact @Brownie, can you confirm or deny this?

I have no idea who his sources are, nor am I going to explain who, how or why I may know what I do in relation to this.

@The Esk I've said this before (as below quote) but its's still relevant - how can you proclaim to know the inner workings of Usmanov when you had no idea what was going on between him and Moshiri. Remembering rightly you were discussing Moores and Noel with no knowledge of the truer takeover. Now we're lead to believe you have sources close to Usmanov, alongside all the other transfer gurus you consult?
If anything this transfer window and speculative guesswork has proved Everton are keeping business under wraps, not one of your 'he's ours' proclamations have came true, and nor one source predicted the current signing we have made.

@The Esk With all due respect, to assume you know anything regarding the mindset of Usmanov is odd. The fact nobody was any the wiser regarding this 'takeover' and going of other threads its clear, yourself along with many other blues were debating Moores and Noel, shows its impossible to guess what's happening behind the scenes. That's not to say Usmanov will invest into Everton - far from it - but at the same time, it isn't wise to state against that. Anything is in the realms of possibility, so to discount it is like I said rather odd. Everyone is entitled to a say, so not attempting to shoot anyone down, but lets be honest your post comes over as a firm 'it's not happening for X Y & Z, forget about it'. You clearly know your stuff, going of other posts but on this issue, you've clearly used a platform to talk down other peoples opinions. Simple fact is you and me both, have no idea what's happening or will happen for that matter, so let's not pretend otherwise.

If this happens, that's fantastic. However, I don't see why it's suddenly being talked about again. A blog post based on pure speculation is no reason to believe that it's any closer to happening.

With respect that's not accurate. The 13% acquired by CMC was a strategic investment by the Chinese. It allowed them to diversify into Manchester City's holding company and in return have their expertise available to a significant investment programme in Chinese football.

Look at CMC's relationship with the Chinese Government and then you'll perhaps understand the reasons for the investment and the influence it brought.

I'm quite aware of the reasons and benefits accrued by them already mate, i'm also aware they hold the CSL broadcasting rights and about the Chinese presidents obsession with football and the favour it has brought these consortiums by attaching themselves to the city brand and the exposure that brings - which is why i find it slightly puzzling you stated my assertion about being a minority share holder in City will bring them a lot of prestige etc as being innacurate.

Additionally, how exactly is what i say about the Chinese consortium having zero influence, decision making or power in regards to Manchester City Football Club innacurate? - As ultimately that is what i was saying before you rebuked the statement.

Are you also saying that there is zero benefit for any Chinese investor to purchase a none controlling stake in a club unless that club happens to be Manchester City? Be interested why City are differnet to Arsenal in your opinion mate so that a stake in them is worthless in terms what was gained by the City deal?

With all due respect to everyone and all the boys have done well and are putting in a shift but no one has any idea or can claim to have any idea what is or is what is not going on in this situation or non situation. Those who believe those who claim to know will know the same as those who know nothing. At the end of the day all the boys done good tho.

Moshiri has already changed the game for us. Yes we can all gripe about the signings we have made so far (I for one believe we have strengthened the squad already, and 3-4 more will come by the end of August). But does anyone really think that if it was still BK et all pulling the strings we would have Keoman and his backroom staff, Walsh as DOF, Williams & Bolaise. NO. We would not.

I always felt when it went public about Moshiri and how much of a stake he purchased was a little odd. Kenwright still there etc. All seemed a little underwhelming. I firmly believe Usmanov to be a possibility.

And that my friends, would be MASSIVE, for Everton. The game would change for us AGAIN, immediately. And the 'project' that keeps getting mentioned by new managers, players, Lukaku's agent etc. etc.......im quite certain involves a very rich Russian and a new stadium on the docks.

Just feel it in my bones folks. Yeah Ill get shot down here. But I don't care. Something is afoot, and its bloody good news for our club.

Agreed. I, like most others around here, am still wrapping my head around the massive changes in our fortunes as a club compared to where we were just eight months ago! So, even though this Usmanov speculation seems like fantasy talk on an open forum for opinions, recent history has proven that anything, even the most unlikely, may well be possible. So, I too am not about to kill this idea (Usmanov investment) stone dead just yet. In the meantime, let's enjoy the waking of the giant that is Everton Football Club! Finally, we have something good to look forward to for a change.
