Like Cristiano Ronaldo ?. 35 isn't he ?
Yep, and Messi but these are two players who really are freaks of nature in the way they have been able to still play at the high standard in old age (football wise.)

Ok then use your imagination to remove them from my post. They were bit part squad players for mid table sides. You cannot put them in the same bracket as those other players.

It's not as unusual as it used to be with the advances in sports medicineIf you think its normal to still be paying a player more than £100,000 for a player well past he's 34th birthday then fair enough![]()

Napoli signed a 24 year old Allan for 7m and had 4 and a half really good seasons from him. He has now fallen out of favour been accused of walking in training yet we want to play £30m for him. Not only that but we want to give him a lengthy contract.
Haven't we learnt the lessons of the likes of Walcott.
Why aren't we looking to sign a 24 year old top class talent who we can sign for a reasonable fee and then sell on at a profit. We are the gift that keeps on giving.
Signing players approaching their 30's who have never played in the Premier League is a mugs game. If it goes badly we are left with another player on a long term contract that we cannot shift.
