Think he played within himself second half a little bit, wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing through the pain barrier second half - did look like he was having groin issues.
 

I think his performance largely depends on his partner in the CM, generally i've noticed, if his partner plays well he does, equally, if his partner doesn't he doesn't
 
Read a great article once about how the great Brazilian players see the demise of their countries fortunes in the last 40-50 yrs down to the obsession with 'destroyer' defensive midfielders, as opposed to putting the onus on versatile, attacking midfielders. Mind you they've still won 2 world cups in the same period.....

Allan's one of a clutch of guys good on the ball who can distribute well. Doucoure better going forward. Both a bit fragile and I don't see DVB or Alli putting monster tackles in either. With Davies, Delph (shudder) and Gomes also weaker off the ball, this area of the team is a massive opportunity to strengthen.

Really hope we test out some younger home grown lads in this 'guv'nor' type position.

I think tbh its an area we spend on and bring in a disruptor, like a young Gana/Kante, if leicester implode all in on Ndidi.. or that style which if we had a decent scout in place should be able to find as the french league seems overran with.

Prob a tad unlucky in fairness with the hits to Gbamin and Gomez. By and large though I'd like to see us clear the decks here a bit in terms of our baggage.
 
He's a good little player, he struggles a bit in a two and can't be used as the defensive part of a three as he doesn't have the positional discipline. I think, as I have said, that he is a good player, with a good attitude, but, I'm not sure if he's the player we need.
 

He’s getting a little long in the tooth. A step slower, a bit brittle, slower to mend when he breaks. Head knows what to do, but at times the body can’t deliver.
This season and maybe one more, then a spot on the bench, then gone.

He only has a year left on his deal and I doubt he gets a new one. Probably becomes more of a squad player next season if we can bring in extra quality into midfield. Rumours of Sarri at lazio wanting him. So who knows

Yeah, I think one more season then we shake hands and part company. You can see that he's a good player but he lacks the speed to get about and be as effective as he maybe was 5 years ago.

If we get a good offer, then fine, but otherwise I think I'd personally be happy enough to see him stay to the end of his contract next summer. I wouldn't be considering extending it though.
