We keep playing 2 in the middle of the park, when everyone else plays 3 and wonder why our central midfielders look bad. They are literally outnumbered. We need to play 3 in the middle somehow. Either 433 or 532, even 451. I’m hoping if will change for the next game.

Absolutely dreadful this evening, I thought barasic's performance for rangers in the first half of the rangers Vs Celtic game was gonna be the worst performance I'd see all season. This rivalled it. Gordon and Holgate not much better. Still think there were positives in the performance but this guy's level of performance for a good while, has been well below par. Not even comparable with Idrissa.

Seems to get a free pass off a lot of people for some reason but was truly terrible tonight. Couldn't get the ball out of his feet or play a 5 yard forward pass.

He stinks the place out yet you look on here and his thread has dropped halfway down the page while other players are getting the dogs abuse for similar performances.

Midfield always goes missing. I know he's playing alongside garbage but he needs to take his share of the responsibility too. I always think he needs more intensity to try and execute the game he's trying to play but it's not there given his age.

I mean he's by far from the biggest issue right now though isn't he.

Saturday showed exactly why he is a level above Gomes and the rest of the midfielders we have on the ball (bar VdB). But he was poor last night. But that was a whole team thing too.

Newcastle outnumbered us and Lampard should have put three in there but ultimately our short-sighted previous recruitment has left us all over the place defensively too, so when the injuries hit there was no way to change it.

He’s been the mainstay in midfield this season. He can’t dominate in there though he’s always chasing shadows.

Not suited to a 2 in midfield for me, especially alongside somebody like Gomes. Doucoure it works just about but he’s not mobile enough otherwise.
