I don't really understand your point? I'm not concerned about it or anything, I was just passing comment that being subbed on on 27 different occasions in one season is quite noteworthy. It would be quite a lot for an attacking player but for a defensive midfielder it's definitely a lot more than you would normally expect. They obviously had their reasons and it seems to have worked well for them, I'd just be interested to know what the rationale was (did they have another midfielder who just couldn't last 90 minutes, was he seen as more attacking/defensive than the person he was replacing, was he covering different positions etc).

My point is that young players often get sub appearances. That is generally the way they are brought into professional football. It is no surprise to me that a twenty year old gets subbed. There is nothing sinister, it’s just the way young players are developed.

He's an absolute unit. He has that same incorrect scale look about him that Lukaku had. Like he's in a computer game and has been rendered 10% too big by accident.

And as for Fellaini, maybe I'm misremembering, but this guy looks better with the ball. Whenever I think about Fellaini for Everton, I think about him going for balls in the air, and trapping them with his velcro nipples.

Felli was very underrated on the ball, was just so unorthodox that people forget and remember his physical stuff - as you say, the ability to bring the ball down on his chest with ease

That period where he and Gibson played as a two in midfield produced some of the best footy we've played in the last decade or so
