We spent a lot of money on potential and at this time it looks ill-spent given how little we have upfront. And yes, he does have potential, but so did Gordon and Davies at some point. To make a decent profit on his transfer fee means he needs to improve a lot and quickly.

Talk of Arsenal and Chelsea is fanciful.
At this point he'd be lucky to make their benches. The reality is that our top players aren't top players at clubs with champions league squads. Look at Richarlison.

Not many players show enough for that fee but we have a very clear benchmark now. £45m for a non-scoring forward to Newcastle so this lad will be a good chunk more to a CL side.

When he didnt play you could see the gap.

Similar traits to Onana in a far superior team.

Does he look a level above Onana? For me, no. He's also had longer to adapt to the league and playing in a better side.

Need to see more only champions he will be playing is championship doesn’t do a lot for me except throw the odd big challenge in and gets the crowd going, at times good at stretching his legs driving forward but doesn’t do it enough for me needs to stop looking at next 5 years and play on a game to game basis whilst improving

Awful today

I know I’ll be getting a reputation for constantly moaning about him, but I just can’t believe how the world of football thinks he is a future world class player. Just because he’s big but still quite mobile.

I can’t see how he would be much better in a really strong team either. It’s not like he’s got KDB vision and passing/shooting.

That said, if he can improve second half it will be like an extra player, and we will need it for their onslaught with their happy clapping crowd.

Need to see more effort and a lot more involvement in this game, a lot of posters call Gana and sometimes rightly so, but Gana has been much the better player so far.
