2022/23 Amadou Onana

All fair points, but my original point was about him only playing 25 games and fans giving up on him. It would be great to buy ready made players but as the last few years have shown it’s not easy. Having a clueless inferring owner/board and poor DOF’s doesn’t help.

My guess is we probably paid 10mil max down on Onana, if we had more I think Lampard would have looked for more experience
Fair enough, I haven’t give up on him but without going on about the debate I just honestly haven’t sen anything to get excited about Onana up to now, I hope he surprises me in the coming games and gives the team a lift.

Its just weird how he can look so good against Arsenal, have fans of other teams all hyping him up as an amazing talent and then follow that up with complete averageness ever since.

We spent 20mil on doucoure 27, 20 on Allan 29, 25 on Gomes 26. 25 on Gbamin who was 23 or 24. Our fans scream we need to buy youngsters With potential who can grow. Like we did with richarlison, who had a not so great first season with Watford.

But now we need to buy ready made players again. Because Onana is not running the game every week, Well we haven’t got fortunes to spend just look at the players I’ve mentioned above, all been bad buys. We can’t go and pay 50/60mil for midfielders, ok Brighton have found a few gems but it’s very rare.

Leeds bought 2 midfielders last summer 24 and 26, 20mil a piece and are very average players.

I don’t rate doucoure, never have,
nobody wanted him when he left Watford only the team that finished 12. 20mil for a top 6 side is peanuts, for a experienced prem squad player, spat his dummy out because Frank didn’t rate him and sat on a ball during a warm up. A few good games under dyche and people making out he’s a world beater
Other than Iwobi they are all better under Dyche. Iwobi still does a job but not in his best position.
Considering how we now play, a decent striker and we would not still be in trouble

In his first appearance (I think as a sub) he immediately looked like a player with interesting potential.
He seems a good egg and has been very good/clever at bigging it up with supporters both during and after games
But he needs to have more impact and show more consistency. His tracking of Man Utd players was terrible/lazy
Not sure what his best position in midfield is
But he's 21 and has talent
Just hope he shows it more before the end of the season

Young player in inconsistency shocker.

I mean it’s literally the only game where I’ve been genuinely impressed by him and thought “this lad could be top tier eventually”.

He’s a little too inconsistent for someone who cost £35m IMO regardless of age.

Yes looks like they’re all out on bank holiday including yourself. You’re the one saying onanas bossing it. That language isn’t needed in here either anymore an you’re out 😂
My god, looks like they let them out of the funny farm over Easter.

Again read the thread. Or find where I said Onana was/has been bossing it. Good luck
