Probably because Danjuma was in front of him and was just letting players bypass him. Onana looked like he sat deeper second half and was far more disciplined, especially without the ball.

You are not listening. He is playing in his best position at the minute. Why would you even want him further up the pitch. Further forward he presses too much and leaves us exposed. We look so much more solid with him playing where he is now. Results are better aswell

The reason i responded to your post was because you said he wasnt technically good enough to play in advanced positions.

What im saying is that he is very good technically and its not only attacking roles people with good technique are used in.

Very good technically I would class that as Rodri, busquests, Pirlo not onana.

Got to keep believing in himself and show the kind of driving runs he provided against West Ham. They don't half put opposition teams on the back foot as the transition is so quick teams struggle to defend against it.

I want to see him do that a lot more. He got himself into a couple of tricky situations on Wednesday where he's trying to be too cute and lost out in dangerous positions but that will come. Still a lot to learn when he's facing his own goal, but when he's running with the ball he's got so much potential.

Onana has really grown into and made the Everton No.6 role his own after a shaky start with Arsenal.
Now a very reliable player, whom I hope stays beyond the next summer.
