I think because we've got so used to the anonymous performances he puts in people overate him when he has a decent game.

7.5/10 from me overall tonight. He's certainly better for not having Gana getting under his feet, hopefully he continues to improve and imposes himself on premier league games.
He is like the Yak.....we need to feed him not bypass him. Any player can look anonymous if he is ignored

Forget the price tag. Price tag is poison for comparisons. Did he play like a 30 odd million player in the first half?..........No he didn't. Did he play badly compared to a 10m player ...no he didn't. Fans judge by market value unintentionally just by the fact of the price tag. He will be gone in the summer most probs and we will miss him but he is rubbish compared to his price tag but we will miss him
His price tag originally didn’t enter my head you mentioned price tag hence why I said for What some are saying he’s worth you’d expect better. I’m basing it on what I watched in the first half and it wasn’t great regardless if he was free or £100m player. Based on the last few games we will miss him based on previous 12 months we wouldn’t, let’s see how he does this season and if he continues to put good performances in, the first half he was still involved but didn’t do very good so that’s a plus compared to a lot of his games where he’s been non existent.

I disagree, a midfielder should get involved in play - even if that's mucking in with the defence. He let too many games pass him by completely imo... he even stopped with the cheerleading act. Glad to see he's looking like coming good now but I agree with others assessment of him tonight, average at best in the first half, better in the second.

Exactly people need to calm down same with Branthwaite both looked good last few games, Branthwaite has been good since he come into the side but let’s see if they can keep it up over a season and keep improving. Same for Mykolenko it’s only that he’s looked so bad he actually looks ok recently still miles off it for me.

I think it's symptomatic of how bad we've been generally the past few years that people latch onto certain performances and in context, feel like they're better than they really were.

Not knocking Onana there, done well recently, but he's not suddenly some midfield powerhouse.

I think Mykolenko has had a run of matches where he's been up against opponents that suit his game - Saka, Salah and Bowen were all players he could spend all match shackling, and imo he's at his best when he has to put in a disciplined defensive display.

Totally agree hope his good form continues but the Vieira and Yaya shouts need to hold off a little longer

I really rate Onana but it's okay to give your opinion on isolated halves of football.

First half poor and second half he was good.
