I think he's less a confidence player and more just someone who needs a rocket up his backside. If anything I'm hoping the missed penalty gives him something to prove.

I'm not blaming Pickford. I'm saying there were opportunities all through the shoot-out for things to go differently.

Onana's was the big one. It's totally on him that he decided to do what he did. But I'll not budge on one thing - he should never have been taking that pen. Just like how Saka, for example, should never have been taking that crucial pen for England a few years ago.

To be honest the way this was being talked about on the match thread I was expecting worse. He's obviously thinking he'll give the goalie the eyes to the normal side for a right footer and then put it safely in the other side. The keeper is very experienced and didn't buy it so it looks awful and I doubt he'll try it again.

That’s not a mistake slipping or smashing it over is a mistake, that penalty was negligent. Pathetic skip to the ball wasn’t even a run up then that attempt of a shot what even was it? Thinks he’s so much better than he is he’s an average baller nothing special don’t need players like him. He’s had about 6 decent games in 18 months.

Penalty to win the game, put your foot through it and go for the corner. I was standing in front of it and could see where it was going before it left his foot. I think it was shocking.
