2023/24 Amadou Onana

I think we'd all agree that this Everton team is bang average. In fact many would say that this team has less quality than many of us can ever remember. So with those players around him why has Onana only been our motm two or three times? He's way overrated and that penalty just highlighted what a clown he is. If we can get 50m from somebody we should snap their hand off.

Based on this thread, if we lose to Spurs at the weekend, I’ll expect the Dyche out brigade to be back in force and every player that just helped us win 4 in a row get slagged off as not good enough to wear the shirt.

Yes it was a bad penalty, I’m sure he’s been thinking that himself since it was saved. We either hope he learns from it and get behind him so he can power us to a result v Spurs or slag him off for the rest of his career at Everton like this forum did to Rom, only to realise what a player we’d lost once he’d gone.

This point a million times over.

And it’s not just the ‘modern fan’, the arl fellas who use it as some sort of self preservation coping method to show how ‘enlightened’ there are. The theories they’ll cook up based on one moment and rule it’s as law and ‘they knew all along’

It’s mind boggling
Well articulated. Sums the mindset up perfectly.

Never liked penalties.
One big reson is the person who misses gets the blame ( southgate).
The goalie who saves is a big hero.
After 90 mins or 120 mins of togger its a horrid decider and one that can ruin a player.

Don't thin anyone calls him amazing but he has everything and we are weaker when he's not in the middle. People also have some weird great faith in recruiting replacements.
That is the key isn’t it. If we could sell for £65m and buy a clone of Garner (young, versatile, humble, hungry, natural talent) and a 26 year old international Right Back it would be an absolute no brainer to cash in. Sadly we’d pay for the tiling in the BMD bogs and give Andre a new contract.

£65m? Bah.

I’d take what we paid for him right here right now and I’d drive him there meself.
