Terrible penalty aside, he’s having a really good breakout season.
Last season we could all see his potential but apart from that Arsenal game he put in mostly 5 or 6 out of 10 performances with glimpses of potential (perfectly understandable for a young lad new to the premier league)
This season he’s been really good and his benchmark is 7 out of 10 imo. He’s much better now he’s owning that ‘number 6’ roll rather than trying to be box to box which didn’t really suit as his biggest strengths are tackling and incisive forward passes
He’s terrible in and around the box but hopefully something he can work on and I’d love to see more of that towering header against Burnley! That was great!

The biggest thing I’ve noticed this season though is what a lovely kid he seems to be. Yes he’s got a bit of arrogance (he’s a young, rich, footballer who plays internationally for a top country) but he is always giving team mates plaudits where appropriate and the little clips of him always stopping to chat and sign stuff for young fans is always lovely to see.

Roy Vernon turns in his grave.

3rd December and absolutely Baltic, pitch like the Somme, and all in short sleeves.

Proper men in them days.

Should've seen what pens they took in the 1920s, proper proper men, men's men back then, no penalty unless a foot or head fall off. What was that pen given for anyway, the lad can still walk hahaha SOFT

He'll learn from it
It's [Poor language removed] obviously, but it happens, we move on
I don't think Saka has missed a penalty since missing his first ever one in the euro final – obviously the result sucks but that's the risk with young players

Saka missed a crucial penalty against West Ham that arguably played a big part in the team bottling the league last season but I agree he has looked far more assured from the penalty spot since.

Difference is that Onana contributes very little to our goal tally ( or assists), and I can count his motm performances on 3 fingers. It's not just about his one penalty miss.

You're having a laugh! Comparing Onana with Maradona!!
If he was 10% of what Maradona was then we could forgive a penalty lapse. The fact is that he's shown us very little other than 'potential'.
Has he ever scored for us outside of the 6 yard box?? What on earth made him think that he was the one to grab the 5th 'glory penalty'?
I was at the game and it was a very poor penalty but I believe it looks even worse looking at it from behind the goal in The Gwladys St. end.
