I don't see enough output from him to justify the claims he's going to go far. He's hardly a stand-out player in what is a very mediocre Everton side, so I'm just not seeing it right now. I can see the impact of Tarkowski, Branthwaite, and Pickford. I can see the better returns of Doucoure under Dyche. The rest seem to be much and muchness, Onana included.

I think in a good team he could shine, he wouldnt have any pressure to perform and could just stroll around the pitch spraying 90 yarders.

Reminds me of Fellaini in a way, when he first came I considered him a luxury player.

Which is why I would be playing him at 10, lets him cook.

Abysmal finishing all things considered though, he's had a few chances you'd put money on anyone not named Maupay scoring.

Then again, we cross a lot, so maybe he can just head em in lol

Funny how everyone sees players - to me he’s got so much potential I suspect we’ll end up thinking we undersold him if/when he goes in the summer for £50/60m.

I think of the inch perfect threaded pass to Calvert lewin v wolves, the unbelievable recovery vs Liverpool at anfield preventing a certain goal, the headed goal vs Burnley, the first 10/15 mins vs Fulham where he was taking the ball off them like candy from a baby.

At the moment he’s performing in moments and not gripping matches but I genuinely think that will come - he’s only played about 100 professional matches with about half at premier league level - he’s a comparative novice and has loads to learn but I see hardly any 6’s out there who can do all those things.

If he’s not starring for one of the trophy winning clubs in the next 5 years he should be disappointed with himself.

He’s not a bad player seen flashes of quality from him, put a decent enough player on the pitch and over time you will see flashes of good stuff I’ve seen a lot more questionable performances from him than I have good had a run of about 6 games where he looked decent. Problem with this squad we don’t have a player who has consistent quality. For me Tarkowski is pretty solid and know what you’re getting and Branthwaite has looked good also pickford reliable and them 3 could look the same in any team they played in maybe add Garner into that. The others are too reliant on other players around them performing and if we don’t play with legs well you seen what happened at wolves. What is it about this forum if people don’t agree then they try and force their opinions on you bizarre.

22. 2nd season in the PL. Doing his part in keeping us up again. Has some good games and other not so good games. Does plenty of frustrating things and then others where you think you glimpse potential for more.

Be arsed about whether we are selling him for big money. We need to stay in the league and he appears to be good enough to contribute to that playing in a midfield where I don't actually hate any of them.

He's not brilliant and he's not crap, you'd think at some point fans would stop overhyping and over-criticising young new signings.

If he does exactly what he has done so far this season and we stay up by whatever margin then he's done a decent job. You'd expect at his age to start to see more next season with so much high level experience under his belt but then given our goal will likely be the same one of avoiding relegation I wouldn't be bothered if he just kept playing at the same flawed but good enough level.

I’ve literally just posted similar if you play enough games you will have these moments. When you see him doing it consistently then I will think hang on we’ve got a player here. It’s the drifting out of games and doing nothing that’s more of a problem. I mean Ben Godfrey made a goal saving tackle a few weeks ago. The headed goal was great used his size and athleticism attacking the ball but it’s a one off. As you say he is a novice so can get better but so far I don’t see the hype but that’s fine it’s just my opinion.

Is all opinions at the end of the day - I thought Sandro was a good signing on the basis of a performance at the non camp so what do I know!
