I should have been arriving in Boston today.
I will be missing breakfast at Brueggers Bagels tomorrow morning and then clam chowder from somewhere later on in the day.

How things get explained in North Carolina. I think this is excellent advice.
Also works for multiple definitions of "biscuit". Win Win.

Hahaha, I live in NC and that sounds pretty accurate.

While living in NC I have learned about southern hospitality and about greeting those whose birthday is today. I hope you are having a great one @mezzrow Happy Birthday!

What cake would you be having today?

If I could choose any cake in the world I would have to opt for a Lane cake, which is the ultimate tribute to the work ethic of the Alabama homemaker and my father's favorite, though it is not a traditional birthday cake. In olden times (i.e. - the 20th century) prospective brides would present these for inspection to their future mothers-in-law so that one could see if the raisins have been properly chopped by hand.

Just read this and imagine having to make the thing.

Yummy, I just look at that cake recipe and it sounds delicious. I want to bake one now :) I'm going have to post this cake on the recipe thread so I can keep it for future reference. Thanks!

Btw, are you originally from Alabama and do you live in North Carolina?
