It's irrelevant, isn't it? Are they going to be richer than those that own City or Newcastle? Our own revenue is way behind that of Spurs, Arsenal, United, Chelsea et al.

It's the same with the new stadium. Sure, it's bigger than Goodison, but it's still way behind the stadia of the teams we're trying to overhaul, so it provides us no relative advantage over them at all, it just reduces a tiny bit our disadvantage.

What do you feel makes a good stadium? Obviously a free stadium like West Ham were given is a bonus, but do we want a lifeless void like Emirates or London stadium?

Tbh, I'm not sure it makes much difference either way. It's probably even worse now, but the top 6 have 2 to 3 times our income, and that's before you get into the clubs owned by nation states. Football is a loaded dice these days. Even if BMD adds £50 million to our revenue per season (which seems optimistic), we still have roughly £150 million "less" to spend even than Arsenal. United have £350 million extra to spend each year than us. How can you possibly compete?

All I see here is that the entirely English system of revenue sharing is broken, in favor of the "high class" clubs, to the disadvantage of the rest of the pyramid. EFC will likely never have the commercial revenue that some of these other clubs have, but the real disadvantage is the PL revenue bias.

That's very true. The gap remains big, though as a proportion has stayed consistent. Long term the only way to success is to generate more money.

Moshiri doesnt have access to plug the gap, and the current board spend what little we have badly.

In lay terms, if we spent what little we had better, we would improve.

Ancelotti took an average squad to the cusp of CL qualification. A few less injuries we maybe have got there. I would like to see the club ran better, otherwise we will get relegated.

The real problem is that this is the right answer. If EFC had petrostate money, then there'd be how many... 7, 8 rich clubs? There's just not enough to split among the group of rich clubs, and whether you have the money or not you must manage it well to be good.

Right now, I'm inclined to think given the likelihood of breaking into the top 4 is so small, that the best use of the stadium will be to really benefit the local community. Goodison is located in one of the most deprived wards in the country, so if the club's presence could benefit the local neighbourhood, that would be a good stadium.

I think the value of a ground to create a good atmosphere that can be sold to overseas viewers > match day income. That’s not the same as what you write but I think these can be covered at the same time with similar efforts.

You could give all 20 clubs £500m to spend but there'd still only be 4 CL spots and the wealth would soon be distorted again pretty soon after.

Yes. Basically you keep adding in more money, and the worth of money becomes less and less. Which is sort of where the league is now. It would help, but you cant do a Chelsea or City.
