Player Valuation: £35m
Watching Morocco they have got some good players, that lad Rahimi up front looks decent and is the tournament top scorer.
The winger looks alright too

Who knows? Could be because the other clubs are better than us, with much better sides and stronger in that area of the park, so may not wish to take the plunge at the moment. The player and his entourage may want guarantees of more gametime, for all we know. Spurs might not give him much of that. But why is it madness for us to not be matching it? He’s been linked to half a dozen other clubs, is it madness that no one else is matching or exceeding it? Or does the fact no one is doing so not indicate the level of the player?
£180k apparently. Why would we agree to a fixed purchase option for a player whose almost 30 by that time and on 150k pw
I think that has been slightly over egged. Not if it's Kalvin Phillips, or the man you mentioned above - Ashley Young. He has been a total liability in the majority of games.
A poor player is a poor player, regardless of PL experience. We have too many players who have a tonne of PL experience but are terrible. If you sign young players with a high ceiling, with no PL experience, you likely make some secemt money. Look at Moise Kean, Henry Onyekuru, Vlasic, Lookman, Niels Nkounkou etc. etc. No PL experience, didn't do well for us, or play at all yet we made profits on all of them.
We have brought in four young players , I don't think they have played 10 Premiership games between them. The PL is littered with players who have come in to the league highly rated and just dont cut the mustard and eventually go back under the rock they came from while someone like Idrissa Gueye or Ashley Young have been playing in this league for a decade. Pl experience does & should count for something in recruitment.
Like everything there is a bit of give and take with this, but if we have so far brought in 3 players this summer with 0 PL and one in Iroegbunam with barely any. Would it not make sense to be looking at some experience in the PL?
I get why they need to sell but I don’t know why when lots of teams appear to have been interested they’ve taken a low offer without stoking a bidding war. But maybe they’ve tried to do just that and that’s the price anyone’s willing to pay. In which case (which in a roundabout way was my point)…. maybe he’s just not that great.A lit if the French teams are really bad up financially due to what happened to their league in terms of revenue mate.
Literal fire sales
Bad scouting. Plus, they're all older than the bracket I'm talking about.I think that has been slightly over egged.
I'd prefer other players for sure. But there's a reason he got selected so much last season.
Look at JP Gbamin, Andre Gomes, Cenk Tosun, Allan, Yerry Mina, Davy Klaassen, Oumar Niasse. £155m spent and about £10m recouped
But the loan fees in question are not free ir cheap. Phillips' loan fee at West Ham for 6 months was nearly £10m and they had to cover 100% of his £180k wages. It's scandalous. And supposedly, City want similar this time. That's almost more than signing Richardson. We have brought in four young players , I don't think they have played 10 Premiership games between them.
A couple of loan signing who know the premiership would reduce the pressure on these young lads to immediately come into the team and do well.
I think signing young players on permanent deals and experienced older players on loan is a very sensible strategy.
We could still match Fiorentina's offer
€10m plus 10% sell on seems a good deal for a youngster who has played a good deal of football but still under 21.

We absolutely need to avoid deals like this.
Not saying we would but City are desperate to get rid. We have a fixed purchase option with Napoli for LindstromWhy would we agree to a fixed purchase option for a player whose almost 30 by that time and on 150k pw
Not what was reported mate.Philips loan fee was 3.5m not nearly 10m mate.

So your saying bad scouting can only emerge on players who are older? Bad scouting is the easiest cop out ever, as the same scouts also selected the players you mentioned previously we made minute profits on. FWIW Yerry Mina was 23 when he signed for us, Andre Gomes 25, Gbamin 23, Tosun 26, Klaasen 23, Niasse 26.Bad scouting. Plus, they're all older than the bracket I'm talking about.
Ashley Young was really poor. Even in the majority of his better games, he dropped a few clangers and got away with it. He was selected constantly because of who our manager is.
