Carlo's boys knocked out of the Copa del Rey. Fantastic aggressive display from Athletic there. Why can't we play like that against the top sides?

Things turned very sour before he went. He's a nice guy but watching us at the end of last season was nearly as bad as Benitezball
Nearly as bad as Benitez, nearly as bad as Silva, nearly as bad as Allerdyce, nearly as bad as Koeman, nearly as bad as Martinez... there’s a recurring theme here.

All turining on Anchelotti just before he left, one of the greatest.

Shambles.

The thing with being "the greatest" is that you have to qualify it somehow and what we saw on the pitch generally wasn't that. Of course certain circumstances are beyond his control and a problem for any manager as you allude to, but he only contributed to some of our issues like signing older and declining players like Allan and James (and I loved James). He and Moshiri were wrong to target Europe in the short term because we were nowhere near ready for it, Ancelotti and Everton just weren't a good fit imo.

Set up a pretty solid defence though, I'll give him that
