The experience for him vs. Palace was massive before United. With him and Gana both playing, we have an actual midfield. Despite how United have been, that's huge going to their place.

Before the game on telly, the commentator Jon Champion said Gomes was on loan with an option to buy. Has this been confirmed anywhere?

Silva has said previously we don’t have options to buy either Gomes or Zouma unfortunately. I can’t find a link but recall it being reported around the time of signing them.

Hopefully he’ll love the experience of playing here so much he’ll want to stay. From what I’ve read he hasn’t enjoyed his football much during the last couple of seasons so yesterday was a great start.
