We've seen our players do the same though and applauded it as it showed apparent desire. There is no denying that football is fickle and full of hypocrisy. How many people lauded Mirallas' tackle on Suarez? In fact, a better question to ask would be, who wanted Mirallas to actually snap him? Answer honestly please.
Suarez purposefully injured two players in one game, not to mention his other offences so his was karma...
I'm all for tactical fouls, but uncontrolled lunges from behind are a big no no

I've little sympathy for Suarez as he had previously gone in similar to do Mirallas on the achilles. But obviously Mirallas deserved a red card. I'm not sure there's much of an argument.

I applaud a firm committed challenge but not when it's deliberately aimed at taking out the player. That's the key point. You don't lunge at someone's ankle with the ball 3 yards away unless you want to get the man. Son knew it straight away.

I don't want him banned for life or even a lengthy ban. I just want Spurs and Son to show some contrition, apologise, accept the 3 game ban and draw a line under it. Then we move on, end of the matter.

Their victim act is truly bizarre.

Like Mirallas' then.......

That's an exception.....
Mirallas was out for months because of Suarez iirc...
Son lunged in as retaliation for being caught in the face, accidentally, by Gomes earlier in the match.
If Suarez had caught mirallas by accident thenni wouldn't condone it no....

Since when did a snide tactical foul involve a reckless lunge??? No one has been able to answer that point....

He could have pushed him, pulled his shirt, clipped him or whatever he liked to take the booking for the team. But no. Instead he launched into a tackle where the ball was miles away because he lost his head.

Tactical foul that's no where near the box when he's surrounded by Spurs players. OK.

The hypocrisy in here! For years, we've been banging on about having a "snide" in midfield. Someone to get stuck in and make it rough for the opposition. Someone to pick up tactical bookings. Different now is it?

I don't condone what has happened, but if we were 1 nil up in a must win game, we'd all be calling for the same tactical foul. No one wants to see a leg break, but unfortunately, it happens.

I could quote these all day, but there are literally hundreds of posts akin to the above.
Not hypocrisy at all to say that the repercussions should match the outcome. As far as I'm aware gomes snide tackles hasn't broken an ankle.

if he didn't break his ankle, I can guarantee Gomes would have stood up and kicked off at him after that challenge. He was never getting the ball and it was intentional to take him out.

People are somehow getting hyperbole with him not meaning to break his leg and ignoring the fact he did intend to foul with no chance of getting the ball.

Absolutely agree TT, the total lack of respect by Spurs, having the gall to throw in an appeal is sickening. But I'm sure we will get one or two on here, who will argue that case, I have a good idea who.
