Who situation is an absolute joke. Gomes is out for a very long time, can only hope he makes a full recovery. Son the petulant little snide misses around 20 minutes of football.

This picture makes me think Aurier has done most of the damage here though, not that Son knocking him off balance isn't contributing, but his leg looks fine before Aurier clatters him.

His foot plants into the turf, he sees Aurier coming and tries to shift his body, causing the injury.

Its as freak as you can get.

I don't know this looks like more than shifting body weight to me.

I honestly don't get that bothered by football anymore. I'm mildly irritated for a few minutes by the weekly shambles we see out on the pitch but then I'm over it quickly. This whole situation has really annoyed me though.

The tackle while not directly breaking Gomes' ankle was off the ground, from behind and after the ball had gone. Son had no intention of getting anywhere near the ball and despite obviously not intending to do any serious harm he definitely intended to 'leave a mark' on him. It makes all this sympathy for Son particularly galling when it was essentially a needless revenge tackle. There's only one victim in this situation and it definitely isn't Son.

Now the red card being overturned just compounds a dreadful last few days and a dreadful last few months of football. I just hope Gomes gets the support he needs over the coming months, especially seeing as how he's struggled in the past.

Disgusting... Son is a repeat offender who has done this before, trying to get revenge on players during a game. None of this nice guy stuff please. He went in to hurt Gomes. He was wildly out of control, looking for revenge, waited 30 yards out of position for Gomes, lunged (refuse to call it a challenge because that implies he went for the ball) at him when the ball was several yards away, high, and from behind.

As a result, he broke Gomes’s leg. Disgusting player, disgusting decision to overturn this.

If we don’t kick up a fuss about this, then we as a club have to take a long hard look in the mirror...

I can't be bothered to pour over the details of what happened on Sunday because it's done now but your reply to my post was literally 'are we giving red cards for every foul now' which is the kind of argument a child would put across.

He will reply to anything with that sort of mindset.
