I made a poor attempt at making a conciliatory comment in the aftermath but worded it badly and right got picked up on it. Didn't want to make the same mistake again.

Actually like Son, he's an excellent player, wish we had him, but a foul is a foul, imo, felt it deserved a red. But feel Spurs and Pochitino could have shown a bit of humility in this case and a bit more respect and feeling for Gomes. Surprised at Spurs tbh. Respect for coming on here.

So in theory every tackle is liable to ‘endanger an opposition’ and a red card as it could potentially lead to an injury?
I really don’t understand what’s so difficult about this.

I specifically used an example to highlight how it is well established that people get punished based on the consequences of their actions rather than the actions themselves, and yet you’re now ignoring that. In theory every time you drive your car you might run someone over, but you don’t get sent down unless you actually do it. Thats how it works, no? So why are you making out like it’s a bizarre idea when applied to football?

Same with @JLW, you’re saying that every game would see someone sent off, but unless someone was seriously injured in every game that wouldn’t be the case. It’s literally the key part of the argument and you’re just missing/ignoring it.

Still trying I see, Son has always been a player I've liked, just did not like the tackle or the antics of Spurs in the aftermath. Why can't you take a hint, log off.

I’m with you mate. He’s a cracking player and seemed a genuine bloke with his reaction to the tackle, which was mistimed but without malice (in my opinion).

I just didn’t agree with saying, let’s break his legs next game. Seemed a bit extreme, but there you go. To each their own.

I genuinely can't see why theres any debate about the red card.

Are you not allowed to think he is decent at togger but disagree with his actions?

Of course you are.

In fact, I’ll go a step further. You’re allowed to think he is decent at togger, disagree with his actions...... AND not support premeditated, violent physical assault on him.
